Activities of Nuclear Research Institute Rez in the area of hydrogen technologies [Pg.447]

Due to the increasing importance of hydrogen technologies, the Institute established a dedicated research unit working in this area. There are two kinds of activities of the unit demonstration projects focused on presentation of the possible use of hydrogen, and theoretical research and development activities. Certain studies on possible production of hydrogen from current and future nuclear power plants are also performed. Some activities of the research unit are briefly described below. [Pg.448]

NRI s main task in the Zemships project is to develop a simplified mathematical model of ship propulsion. This model has been used together with measurement data from typical driving loop to optimise a driving strategy with regards to achieving high propulsions efficiency. [Pg.450]

Xhe 1987 WINTER SYMPOSIUM of the Division of Industrial and Engineering Chemistry, hosted by the Minnesota Supercomputer Institute, was supported by grants from the American Chemical Society, the Minnesota Supercomputer Institute, Cray Research, Inc., and ETA Systems, Inc. The symposium consisted of four half-day sessions with four lectures per session and a two-part poster session with 15 poster papers. This book includes chapters by the lecturers plus five papers contributed by the session chairs. All contributions were refereed anonymously according to usual procedures of the ACS Symposium Series. [Pg.1]

With the increased level of research and interest in the field, an additional international meeting held between the two European meetings seemed desirable. With this in mind, a mposium was organized as part of the International Chemical Congress of Pacific Basin Societies. The mposium included oral presentations and a poster session, with a total of 50 contributions. The contributions came from nine countries 11 fi om the United States, 20 firom Japan, 3 from Australia, 1 firom the United Kingdom, 2 from Italy, 4 from the Federal Republic of Germany, 5 from the Netherlands, 3 from Sweden, and 1 from Czechoslovakia. [Pg.1]

As in the first meeting it was possible to invite well-known scientists from Germany and abroad to give lectures. In addition, there was again a remarkable poster session. The scientific yield was once more so rich that the organizers felt obliged to collect the lectures and poster contributions in a second volume of Organosilicon Chemistry - From Molecules to Materials . [Pg.858]

The Synposium programme consisted of a series of invited lectures from industrial, university and government speakers, contributed papers and two poster sessions. The call for contributed papers resulted in submission of 85 abstracts, a large proportion of which came from industrial laboratories. [Pg.754]

There is no doubt to me that the four keynote lectures enjoyed great esteem and gave the prelude to a number of most interesting communications on various subjects in the field. This chapter focuses on writing a conference abstract, not to be confused with a journal article abstract, which was addressed in chapter 7. A conference abstract is submitted in response to a Call for Abstracts issued by conference organizers, typically 3-6 months before the conference takes place. The 3rd Pacific Polymer Conference, PPC-3, was held on 13-17 December 1993 at the Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia and organized by the Polymer Division of the Royal Australian Chemical Institute. There were 528 participants, including 117 students) from 23 countries, with the highest numbers coming from Australia (277), Japan (121), USA (40) and Korea (30). The scientific program comprised 50 Invited Lectures, 250 contributed Oral Presentations and 150 Posters, with up to 9 concurrent sessions.
