Other applications include the use of polyesters in gaskets, printer rolls, flexible insulation and as binders for mica. Polyester resin putty, when applied to hardened white cement filled tile seams, ensures toughness and smoothness. Polyester resins containing niobium carbide nanoparticles have been used in the production of radio wave absorbing materials. These materials can be used as protective screens, coverings or coating material to mask equipment from radio detection. They are also used to protect personnel from radio emissions, and as a radio wave absorbing label for security papers and documents. [Pg.122]

Bisphenol A is used as a raw material to make polycarbonate and epoxy adhesives and can coatings. It is also used in flame-retardants, in unsaturated polyesters and in polyacrylate resins. Many foodstuff containers are made of these resins, including containers for oven and microwave cooking. When the diameter/thickness conditions are not met, it is necessary to fill the holes using a separate process. A screening process does this from one side of the panel with polyester screen with an oversized hole pattern. In the recent past, in-line filters mounted between the pump and the carburettor consisted of a nylon cloth, porous ceramic, sintered bronze or phenolic resin-impregnated paper element, while in-tank filters were made of saran or saran-polyester cloth.
