Nylon cloth

A rack and frame press uses heavy nylon cloth positioned in a wooden frame inside a rack. A measured amount of apple or other fmit mash is added from a hopper above the frame. The mash is leveled with a hand trowel and the edges of the nylon cloth are folded over the mash to encase it and create a cheese. The frame is removed, and a second rack is placed on top of the first cheese the process is repeated until a stack of cheeses is prepared. A hydrauhc ram then appHes gradually increa sing pressure on the stack and expresses the juice. A high yield of juice (80%) is obtained and no press aid is required. Because this process is labor intensive (17), it is mostly used for small farm and pilot-plant operations. 

Nylon Cloth Grade with Phenolic Resin Binder. Grade N-1 has excellent electrical properties under high humidity conditions and good impact strength, but is subject to flow or creep under load, especially at temperatures higher than normal. 

Most electroless silver appHcations are for silvering glass or metallizing record masters. Mirror production is the principal usage for electroless silver. The glass support is cleaned, catalyzed using a two-step catalyst, and coated on one side with an opaque silver film (46). Silver-plated nylon cloth is used as a bacteriostatic wound dressing. A tiny current appHed to the cloth causes slow silver dissolution. The silver acts as a bactericide (47). 

Pectin [9000-69-5] Mr 25,000-100,000, amorphous. Dissolved in hot water to give a 1% soln, then cooled, and made about 0.05M in HCl by addition of cone HCl, and ppted by pouring slowly, with vigorous stirring into two volumes of 95% EtOH. After standing for several hours, the pectin is filtered onto nylon cloth, then redispersed in 95% EtOH and stood overnight. The ppte is filtered off, washed with EtOH/ElaO, then Et20 and air dried. 

Filter through a 180-micron aperture nylon cloth and store in a suitable tank. 

Check pH (range 2.0 to 4.0). Filter the solution through a 100-mesh nylon cloth and transfer to a stainless steel storage tank.

Set-up the gold pan or collection bucket in a stable position (since material will be collected from 5-10 points over a distance of250-500 m, it is recommended that the sieving site is located at the half-way point). -Place the sieve with the 0.150 mm aperture nylon cloth in a stable position resting on the gold pan or bucket. -Place the sieve with the 2 mm aperture nylon cloth over the 0.150 mm sieve. 

Materials of more or less broad utility, reported in the literature, include the following filter paper [93], asbestos [51, 94, 95], cellophane [96], nylon cloth [52], and porous plastic [97] other potential candidates are listed in Chapter 31. The porosity of the medium may be decreased by partially filling the voids with another material, such as agaragar, silica gel [9], or magnesium hydroxide. 

Covers three types of tricot knit nylon cloth laminated to a polyester-base polyurethane foam and impregnated with an activated-carbon mixture. 

The U-cell and H-cell are most commonly used in the laboratory (Figure 2). The electrolytes are separated by a diaphragm consisting of porous materials (fritted glass, alumina, nylon cloth, porous plastic, etc.) or ion-exchange membranes (anionic, cationic, Nation, etc.). This type of cell is particularly useful in electrocrystallization experiments under galvanostatic conditions. 

Filtration is provided by one C2A1 canister mounted on either side of the facepiece. The primary voicemitter is located over the mouth area with a secondary voicemitter in the cheek area to utilize telephone handsets. The mask incorporates a drinking tube, which connects to the Ml canteen cap. The mask has a six-point, adjustable head harness suspension made of elastic, which comes together in the center head back into a rectangular patch of woven material. The mask comes in three sizes small, medium, and large. Accessories include a carrier bag, a butyl-coated nylon cloth hood, outserts to protect the lens in storage, and a waterproof bag.
