Polyamides pigments

Epoxy primers cured with amine adducts or polyamides, pigmented with zinc, zinc chromate and potassium chromate, strontium chromate, or, more recently zinc phosphate and calcium phosphate... [Pg.254]

Chem. Descrip. Titanium dioxide CAS 13463-67-7 EINECS/ELINCS 236-675-5 Uses Pigment for plastics for exterior, durable polyolefin and PVC applies., PVC plastisol, lead-stabilized systems, ABS, PS, PC, polyamide pigment for coatings... [Pg.866]

Available Forms. Phthalocyanines are available as powders, in paste, or Hquid forms. They can be dispersed in various media suitable for aqueous, nonaqueous, or multipurpose systems, eg, polyethylene, polyamide, or nitrocellulose. Inert materials like clay, barium sulfate, calcium carbonates, or aluminum hydrate are the most common soHd extenders. Predispersed concentrates of the pigments, like flushes, are interesting for manufacturers of paints and inks (156), who do not own grinding or dispersing equipment. Pigment—water pastes, ie, presscakes, containing 50—75% weight of water, are also available. [Pg.506]

Printing Inks. Printing ink preparation is similar to many coating systems. The resin is dissolved in the solvent, followed by pigment dispersion to produce the ink. In most printing operations, the solvent must evaporate fast for best production speed. Alcohol—hydrocarbon solvent combinations are used with polyamide resins for some printing processes (see Inks). [Pg.280]

Oxidized castor oils are excellent nonmigrating, nonvolatile plasticizers (qv) for ceUulosic resins, poly(vinyl butyral), polyamides, shellac, and natural and synthetic mbber (see Rubber, natural). The high viscosity products are also used as tackifiers in gasket compounds and adhesives (qv) because of good oil and solvent resistance. They also serve as excellent pigment grinding media and as a base for inks (qv), lubricating oils, and hydrauHc oils (62). [Pg.155]

Pigment retention and drainage additives made with polyamines include polyamines made from ethyleneamines, ethan olamines, and epichl orohydrin (262) ethyleneamines combined with phosphoms-modifted polyamines made by reaction of ethyleneamines with POCl [10025-87-3] (263) and a DETA—glutaric acid polyamide crosslinked with PEG-bis(3-chloro-2-hydroxypropyl) ether (264). Polyamines made from ethyleneamines and EDC are useful flocculating agents (265). [Pg.48]

Among these dye classes, anthraquiaone dyes are ia an important position ia reactive dyes and vat dyes for cellulose fibers, disperse dyes for polyester, and acid dyes for polyamide. Application for high performance organic pigments for plastics and paints are also important areas. [Pg.343]

Carmine extracted from cochineal insects is one of the most used natural colorings for beverages and other foods. Some representative articles refer to isolation and spectrometric analysis or the use of HPLC or capillary electrophoresis (CE) to separate and characterize all cochineal pigments. Its active ingredient, carminic acid, was quantified by rapid HPLC-DAD or fluorescence spectrometry. Carminic acid, used as an additive in milk beverages, was separated within 9 min using a high-efficiency CE separation at pH 10.0 after a previous polyamide column solid phase extraction (SPE), ... [Pg.524]

In polyamide, P.Y.190 is heat stable up to 270°C. In this medium, the pigment has a somewhat redder shade and demonstrates noticeably higher tinctorial strength than in HDPE. 0.3% of the commercially available type are sufficient to produce 1/3 SD colorations. [Pg.233]

P.Y.177 which was introduced to the market a few years ago, is not listed anymore as a commercial product. It was a special-purpose pigment for polypropylene and polyamide spin dyeing. As a colorant for these media, P.Y.177 has the added advantage of enhancing the stability of the fibers. [Pg.398]
