Developing plans for response to credible fire events is an important emergency planning element. Different fire events require different responses. Complete extinguishment is the appropriate approach for some events. For others, the optimum approach may be to cool adjacent structures until the source of the fuel can be isolated or until the fuel is depleted. Still others may require that firefighters secure perimeter areas and allow the fire to burn itself out. [Pg.374]

The Analysis Task KB contains all kinds of analysis plan elements from abstract task components to specific tasks. Abstract components have information for plan refinement in the form of templates. Specific tasks include sampling methods, pretreatments, equipment tests, analysis methods defined in the Japan Industrial Standards and others. A specific task has information on the conditions and constraints of the task application, instructions for the task execution and so on. [Pg.204]

The result of the DQO process is a set of informed planning elements that are expanded into what is often called a QAPP. This document dictates the specific elements of a DCA. The QAPP ensures that the sample collection area is logical and well-defined, the samples collected are representative of the area with respect to distribution, number, and freqnency, the samples are collected and documented properly, and the samples reach the radioanalytical chemistry laboratory in an unbroken chain of custody. At the laboratory, the QAPP defines the types of analyses that will be performed, the nnmber of measnrements per sample, the reqnired reliability and sensitivity of analytical resnlts, and the response time. The QAPP also... [Pg.238]

OSHA requires the development of a written hazard communication plan. The plan must address container labeling, SDS availability, and training requirements. Employers must identify the person responsible for each plan element. Organizations must make the plan available on all shifts. The plan must direct the actions taken to communicate appropriate hazard information to all affected... [Pg.165]

The public sphere solves primarily the situations when water has to be supplied to hospitals, medical facilities (American Water Works Association and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention 2014) and other public institutions, reception camps and centres in which it is necessary to accommodate more people during the crisis (Amar 2010). The US EPA report is not focused only on the practical aspects of local planning in relation to the emergency supply of drinking water, but also on the roles and responsibilities of various levels of state administration. It also includes technical planning elements and presents recommendations how to respond better to post-crisis situations (US EPA 2011). Daniel and Morley also deal with the issue of water supply immediately after the crisis situation is over (Daniel Morley 2011). [Pg.1448]
