Plan D Full-Time Work

Retire to full-time work Isn t that a contradiction in terms Perhaps, but the fact is that many people retire from large organizations and seek other full-time employment. Their reasons for doing so vary. Some are forced to retire before they are ready. Others want to stay active and involved in work for financial reasons, emotional reasons, or both. Plan D meets these needs. Here are a few facts about working after retirement  [Pg.89]

If you gave work a high rating (above 20) on the IRA profile in Appendix A, you have a strong signal that Plan D may be the direction for you to take. You will know even more about yourself and Plan D after you complete the Full-Time Work Preference Scale. If you score high on the scale, this chapter can help. [Pg.90]

It s essential that you spend enough time identifying your needs and interests and exploring the array of options open to you. While mistakes can be corrected, it s best to get started on the right track. [Pg.90]

Look at each of these choices carefully. Then, consider the benefits and drawbacks of each before you make your final decision. [Pg.90]

If you have not already done so, before reading this section, turn to Appendix A and complete the Inventory of Retirement Activities (IRA). When this has been accomplished and you have read the chapters in this section, you ll be able to compare your high, average, and low retirement interest activities decide if Plan A (leisure), Plan B (leisure plus part-time work), Plan C (leisure plus a volunteer activity) or Plan D (full-time work) is best for you. [Pg.60]

The new roles of retirement fall into four major categories. In the next chapter they are identified as Plans A, B, C, and D. Plan A is leisure. You choose not to work (either for money or as a volunteer). Plan B involves working for money, either for someone else or in your own business on a part-time basis. You give up some of your leisure time, but not all of it. Plan C involves volunteer work, usually through an organization. It also replaces some of your leisure time. Plan D replaces leisure time with full-time work. [Pg.34]

Plan B, when successful, is a special balance of leisure and work that fits the style of an individual. It is a compromise between working full time and a life of leisure. For most who choose this option, it means working 15 to 20 hours a week. If you approach 40 hours per week, you re moving into Plan D. You must design your own plan. When the proper balance is found, both work and leisure may be enhanced. [Pg.71]

Should prefabrication take place on or near the site, supervision may be within the work scope of the EPCM contractor s site team. The site quality plan and inspection and test plan established by the construction contractor would then cover both shop and site activities. Before work starts, the EPCM contractor shall ensure, preferably by formal audit, that the premises, equipment, skilled staff, supervision and procedures are such as to enable the contract to be fulfilled successfully. Special attention will be required if the prefabrication shop has been created from scratch, as opposed to one already operating as a going concern. Depending on circumstances the EPCM contractor may supervise prefabrication on a visit basis or by a full time presence. Appendix D gives a detailed... [Pg.174]

The planning and execution of the full-scale manufacture of a new product is a time of high excitement in R D. It is often the culmination of several years work, involving many people from different disciplines. Everybody is keen for it to succeed and the profile of this activity within the company is very high. It is the time when senior manager s interest is aroused and this can put some pressure on the team. The R D Manager needs to be especially sympathetic and supportive of the project leaders actions during this period. [Pg.242]
