A protective lipid profile, with reduction of total cholesterol and LDL and a modest increase in high-density lipoprotein (HDL), has been associated with oral estrogen therapy (Writing Group for the PEPI Trial 1995). This effect, however, has been considered negligible when compared with the benefits traditionally ascribed to estrogens (Marsh et al. 1999). 

As for lipids, the effects of SERMs do not overlap exactly those of HT. Oral estrogens increase the circulating levels of CRP (Writing Group for the PEPI Trial 1995), while this is not the case for raloxifene (Walsh et al. 2000). A better profile was observed for droloxifene as well as for tamoxifen, which achieved a diminution of CRP (Herrington et al. 2001 Cushman et al. 2001).

Additional factors may influence fibril stability in vivo. The glycan molecules and amyloid P component found in amyloid deposits may stabilize amyloid fibrils (Pepys, 2006, and references therein). Also, monomer concentration is important to amyloid formation and stability in vivo several amyloidoses are associated with elevated levels of the fibril precursor protein, and deposits regress when the levels of the precursor protein are sufficiently reduced (Pepys, 2006, and references therein).

The writer clearly states she is going to show that Pepys wrote for personal reasons, not to attain fame. 

No one knowsfor sure why Samuel Pepys wrote, his diary. Upon his death, he arranged for the six leather-bound volumes to be deposited at Cambridge, along with a key to his shorthand manuscript. Because of this and other events, some scholars say that Pepys wrote his diaries with the intention of becoming famousafter his death. However, my analysis of Samuel Pepys and his diaries suggests that he wrote for purely personal reasons.
