Partnership sourcing

This model is normally associated with close collaborative ways of working and involves extensive supplier development work, throughout the supply chain to focus on process improvement and the eradication of all unnecessary waste and inefficiency (known as muda ). Its extension into the extended supply chain is based on notions of partnership sourcing and the development of extend transparency. [Pg.234]

A gas chromatograph with a capillary column coupled to a mass spectrometer is an ideal analytical partnership. Effluent from the column has an elevated temperature and the molecules of interest are in a vapor state and ready to enter the ion source. This eliminates the need for desolvation that is required in high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC)-MS. [Pg.157]

In 1999, the Ministry of Research, in association with the Ministry of Industry, created the Fuel Cell Technological Research Network (PACo network) to contribute to French energy policy for the development of new energy sources. The purposes of the network were to foster creativity and innovation needed for the commercial development of fuel cells and to encourage public-private partnerships and facilitate interdisciplinary cooperation. In July 2000, the government launched CNRT (Centre National de Recherche Tech nolog ique) in Belfort-Montbeliard, involving the construction of a fuel cell test platform dedicated to transport applications. The fiiel cell test capacities have demonstrated power up to 200 kW. [Pg.128]

Note on sources These archetypes derive from a drama workshop on mime run by Oily Crick using archetypal masks devised by John Wright of Middlesex University, and the work of Alexander Lowen (1958) on character archetypes. Some refinements come from Relph (1980), Keirsey (1987) and Beilin Partnership notes. [Pg.271]

I remember the days when industrial scientists felt like they needed to have most research and development under their control. The chemical industry has led the way in showing that need not be the case. Two things that a company needs to do well no matter how big it is are (1) form partnerships and alliances to provide for the research and development they cannot do themselves and (2) be open minded about ideas that come from other sources. Both of these can require working closely (collaborating) with universities. [Pg.74]
