Version Security. In the paper world, archival documents held in a file room are in some sense final drafts. Security for a product document must be determined by its status. The electronic document management environment in which documents are managed across their entire life cycle by its very nature allows for the inclusion of draft materials. So, in addition to permitting or disallowing the viewing of the final version of a file, the electronic world must consider and secure access to draft versions. Usually, only authors, editors, and reviewers of files have access to the drafts before they are finalized. Once files are promoted to final status, this version is then promulgated to a broader readership. The draft versions, by contrast, may continue to be accessible by the authors, or may be locked or purged from the system. 

Documents have a life cycle from creation to destruction. In the paper world, we take for granted that each physical instance of a document is created, distributed, archived and destroyed. In the paperless world, it is also important to decide what steps the document life cycle consists of, i.e., what stages a document can be in—"created", "reviewed", "approved" and "archived" as an example (see Figure 1.2). 

Papers are pagelike products obtained by felting short fibers of cellulose or synthetic polymers. 95% of cellulose paper world production originates from wood chippings, the rest comes from textile rags and agricultural waste (see also Section 38.6.2). 

From the time a patient is admitted to the health care organization until the time the patient is discharged, there are many transactions that take place. These may include assessments, me cations, laboratory tests, and diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. Each transaction generates aresult, which may be in the form of numbers, images, reports, or the administration of a therapy. Transactions may be interdependent, in that subsequent transactions are based on the results of previous transactions. Such processes generate a longitudinal record that profiles the activities and results associated with a particular patient. In a paper world, this is the patient chart, which, if implemented in an electronic context, becomes the electronic patient record. 

Bisphenol A (BPA), as shown in the following structure, is very common in plastic bottles, plastic food containers, children s drink bottles, dental materials, and receipt paper. World production amounted to 2.2 million tonnes in 2009.
