Paper chromatograms

Paper chromatograms were developed for 50 50 blends of nylon-6,6 and nylon-6,10 after the mixtures had been heated at 290 C for various periods of time. The following observationsf describe the chromatograms after the indicated times of heating ... [Pg.342]

Dolichol (from pig liver) [11029-02-0] Cgo-Cios polyprenols. Cryst 6 times from pet ether/EtOH at -20°C. Ran as entity on a paper chromatogram on paraffin impregnated paper, with acetone as the mobile phase. [Burgos Biochem J 88 470 1963.]... [Pg.532]

The separation of interactions by 2D spectroscopy can be compared with 2D chromatography. In a onedimensional thin layer or paper chromatogram, the separation of the constituents by elution with a given solvent is often incomplete. Elution with a second solvent in a perpendicular direction may then achieve full separation. In NMR spectroscopy, the choice of two solvents is replaced by the choice of two suitable (effective) Hamiltonians for the evolution and detection periods which allow unique characterisation of each line. [Pg.560]

The mobile phase is drawn through the thin layer by capillary action, but the rate of movement is relatively fast because of the uniform and small particle size. TLC separations on a 20 x 20 cm plate take only 20-40 min compared with two hours or more for a comparable-sized paper chromatogram. [Pg.159]

In some cases, the amino acid pattern on a paper chromatogram is very similar to that found in diseases of the renal tubules, such as cystinosis, where there is a failure to reabsorb all amino acids from the glomerular filtrate and, in consequence, the urinary amino acid pattern resembles that of plasma (W6, W9). In other cases the aminoaciduria is less marked and the amino acids found in greatest excess are glycine, alanine, serine, threonine, and glutamine. In some cases no aminoaciduria has been detected. [Pg.20]

In 1925, Levene and Ulpts19 proposed the possibility that polymerization was responsible for some of the unusual properties of the 2,5-anhydroaldoses. The formation of dimers, hydrates, and hemi-acetals with the solvent can likewise be held responsible for the characteristic migration behavior observed for the 2,5-anhydroaldoses with aqueous alcoholic solvents on paper chromatograms.68... [Pg.215]

Both substitution and cyclization occur in the deamination of 1-amino-1-deoxy-D-g/ycero-D-galacto-heptitol and of the D-glycero-D-guZo-heptitol isomer. Products were isolated in low yield from the former, and identification of the products from the latter amine was tentative, being based on mobilities on paper chromatograms.201... [Pg.60]

In the case of radioactive isotopes, however, the newcomer in the field is faced with a bewildering array of instruments and manufacturers. Developments in this field have been rapid and papers a few years old probably describe assay methods which are now out of date. Currently there is a vast choice amongst ion chambers, proportional counters, Geiger-Miiller counters, crystal scintillation counters, liquid scintillation counters and semi-conductor counters — all with admirable characteristics for particular purposes. If a worker s interests lie solely in gas chromatographic examination of products then he can obtain a counter specially designed to monitor column effluents. Similarly there are various scanners especially for paper chromatograms or thin layer plates. [Pg.134]

Zinner and coworkers studied88 the possibility of formation of 1-thioaldo-furanosides from other sugar dithioacetals, and noted that, both with D-mannose dithioacetals and D-xylose dithioacetals, only the free sugar was formed no thiofuranosides were obtained. With D-lyxose dithioacetals, both the free sugar and the 1-thiofuranoside were formed the latter, detected in only small amounts (on a paper chromatogram), was not isolated. [Pg.116]
