Other Finishes

Polymer is separated from the polymerisation slurry and slurried with acetic anhydride and sodium acetate catalyst. Acetylation of polymer end groups is carried out in a series of stirred tank reactors at temperatures up to 140°C. End-capped polymer is separated by filtration and washed at least twice, once with acetone and then with water. Polymer is made ready for extmsion compounding and other finishing steps by drying in a steam-tube drier. 

Electrical Behavior. The resistivity of acetate varies significantly with humidity with typical values ranging from 10 ohm-cm at 45% rh to 10 ohm-cm at 95% rh (16). Because of the high resistivity both acetate and triacetate yams readily develop static charges and an antistatic finish is usually apphed to aid in fiber processing. Both yams have also been used for electrical insulation after lubricants and other finishing agents are removed. 

The fabric may also be given one or more of a number of other finishing treatments, either ia tandem with web formation and bonding or off-line as a separate operation, as a means of enhancing fabric performance or aesthetic properties. Performance properties iaclude functional characteristics such as moisture transport, absorbency, or repeUency flame retardancy electrical conductivity or static propensity abrasion resistance and frictional behavior. Aesthetic properties iaclude appearance, surface texture, and smell. 

The finish of flange facings varies with the manufacturer. For raised-face or male mating surfaces the finish usually consists of a continuous spiral groove formed by a round-nosed tool or a V tool (serrated finish). Female surfaces are smooth-finished (i.e., without definite tool markings). Other finishes are concentric-grooved, lapped, or mirror (cold-water). The latter two are usually for application without gaskets.

Materials which reduce the friction of mouldings and other finished products when these are rubbed against adjacent materials which may or may not be of the same composition. The most well-known examples here are graphite and molybdenum disulphide used in quantities of the order of 1-2% in nylons and other thermoplastics used in gear and bearing applications.

Segregation is not only limited to the product but also to the containers and tools used with the product. Particles left in containers and on tools, no matter how small, can cause blemishes in paint and other finishes, as well as violate health and safety regulations. If these are such risks in your manufacturing process, procedures need to be put in place that will prevent product mixing. 

Many criteria must be met by raw materials before being selected for a toiletry product skin and eye compatibility, availability, price, biodegradability, ease of use, and compatibility with other finished product ingredients. Sulfosuccinates meet most if not all criteria. 

Metallic compositions serving as siccatives catalyze the well-known oxidation and polymerization of oil in paints and other finishes. Likewise, ferrous and other metallic objects boost self-heating in piles of lignocellulosics. Among the known catalyzing substances are iron sulphides and iron oxides from combustion gases of... 

My condition worsened in the mid- 80s when we moved into a newly-renovated building with new carpeting and other finishes, although I still didn t make the connection. Providing no other acidic species are present and water has been used as the absorption medium in either the 02 flask or pyrohydrolytic tube decomposition, the acidimetric titration of hydrogen fluoride is the simplest. Unfortunately this is often not the case, so one of the other finishes such as colorimetry and titrimetry has to be used. One of the best colorimetric procedures employs Ce-Alizarin complexone reagent5 which changes from wine red to dark blue in the presence of fluoride ion. The color takes a while to develop fully, but it is very reliable. 

About 33 min would be required to replicate the chromosome because you have a bidirectional mode of replication with two replication forks. If you had multifork replication (one round of replication starting before the other finished), a 20-min division time would be possible. 

They have prepared some compressed wood samples which show, in addition to increased density and surface hardness, a lower moisture regain than untreated wood up to 80% relative humidity. Using materials such as these, they have experimented with the manufacture of parquet flooring, a rather severe test of dimensional stability. A variety of other finished products have been prepared, some on pilot plant scale. However, it is not known to what extent they have appeared as products in the open market. Their technology is available through licensure. 

In this sector of the market nickel-chromium systems are used most widely but other finishes have become fashionable, including gold for luxury bathrooms. Generally in this instance a thin coating of gold is provided over thicker layers of copper and nickel (similar to those used beneath chromium). An important feature recently was the introduction of the special filled poly(bu-tylene terephthalate) mentioned in an earlier section, which conveys a sense of weight and quality well-suited to products with more costly finish. 

Should you wish to reverse the positions of the two groups, you simply add them in the reverse order. Whichever group is added first finishes on the inside the other finishes on the outside. 

Some of the products of the refining process are transported to petrochemical plants. These plants convert complex hydrocarbons, such as naphtha, into simple chemical compounds, or a small number of compounds, for further processing by other industries. Canadian petrochemical plants produce chemicals such as methanol, ethylene, propylene, styrene, butadiene, butylene, toluene, and xylene. These chemicals are used as building blocks in the production of other finished products. Nearly every room in your school, your home, and your favourite shopping centre contains, or is made from, at least one petrochemical product.
