Operative setting

The operator sets TU on the area to be controlled and puts the button B Under the command of SC EDC impulse of proper value and duration is formed in source controllable current (SCC). [Pg.651]

Nevertheless, SET devices, as they can build up with chemically tailored building blocks, control the motion of just a few electrons instead of several hundred or thousand ones. Since power consumption is roughly proportional to the number of electrons transferred from a voltage source to the ground in logic operations, SET devices may reduce the power consumption drastically [85]. [Pg.125]

Instrument operational settings. This includes settings such as zone pressures, temperatures, voltages, and flow variables. If alfernalive instrumenfs may be used, fheir operational variables should be listed. [Pg.88]

Frequent changes in contaminant type and concentration in the feed soil can disrupt the efficiency of the soil-washing process. To accommodate changes in the chemical or physical composition of the feed soil, modifications to the wash fluid formulation and the operating settings may be required. Alternatively, additional feedstock preparation steps, such as blending soils to provide a consistent feedstock may be appropriate.77,83... [Pg.563]

Early thickness control systems relied on the calender operator setting up the machine correctly by the use of hand-held thickness gauges, with the consequent slowness of response time during set-up and running before any desired modification to gauge could be achieved. It was usual to run the calender at a low speed to set-up the required dimensions for the product and then to speed up the... [Pg.201]

Micro-HPLC operation sets special demands on the gradient instrumentation. As the internal column diameter, d, decreases, lower flow rates should be used at comparable mean linear mobile phase velocities, u = 0.2-0.3 mm/s. At a constant operating pressure, the flow rate decreases proportionally to the second power of the column inner diameter, so that narrow-bore LC columns with 1mm i.d. require flow rates in the range of 30-100pL/min, micro-columns with i.d. 0.3-0.5mm, flow rates in between 1 and lOpL/min, and columns with 0.075-0.1 mm i.d. flow rates in the range of hundreds nL/min. Special miniaturized pump systems are required to deliver accurately mobile phase at very low flow rates in isocratic LC. [Pg.137]

The result of any retrieval command in MAECIS is a set of chemical structures which is referred to as the "current set". If a second retrieval is made, the current set is moved into another internal storage area and is referred to as the "prior set". In this way, MAECIS automatically keeps track of at least two retrievals for the user. However, it is often necessary to establish several sets of molecules during a single computer session. In MAECIS, any number of sets can be retained using a SAVE command which allows the user to name and save any set of molecules created by a retrieval command. Any stored set in MAECIS can also be referenced in a subsequent FIND command. Thus, new sets can be generated from old sets through the find command s boolean operations. Sets retained with the SAVE command are in temporary memory. To make them permanent, the STORE and RESTORE commands are available to move sets to and from permanent disk files. [Pg.13]

We will assume that problem (37) is solvable for any right-hand sides tp H there exists an operator A-1 with the domain V A-1) = H. All the constants below are supposed to be independent of h. In what follows the space H is equipped with an inner product (, ) and associated norm a = J x, x). The writing A = A > 0 means that A is a self-adjoint positive operator. Set... [Pg.133]
