Set-Up and Operation of Liquid Ring Vacuum Pumps

With the set-up and operation of LRVPs, the following aspects should be considered without fail in the interest of as long a running time as possible  [Pg.67]

If the operating liquid is fed via a pressure line, then pressure adjacent to the pump should not fall below 0.2 bar positive pressure. Furthermore, for the prevention of an overfilling during stoppage, the liquid supply coupled with the motor is to be connected or disconnected. [Pg.67]

If the vacuum pump is fed with operating liquid from an adjoining tank, then the liquid level in the tank should always correspond to about the shaft height of the compressor. Furthermore, it is to be taken into consideration that if possible the pressure loss in the supply line for the vacuum pump with a maximum vacuum should not exceed 100 mbar. [Pg.67]

If for lack of space and for reasons of economy only a set-up separator is used, then one can prevent an overfilling above the wave height by installation of an automatic drain valve. [Pg.67]

If a substructure separator is employed, then the vacuum pump is also to be replenished before the initial operation with liquid up to the shaft height. An emptying into the tank can be prevented by a suitable check valve in the operating water supply to the compressor. [Pg.67]
