Operational control system

The real-time controlled level handled by the FMS/FAS operation control system, a dynamic scheduler with integrated tool management and multimedia support, representing a situation where the parts are already physically as well as logically in the real-time controlled environment... [Pg.170]

Example of a Process Control System. Figure 9-18 shows schematically an air-operated control system applied to the control of a water heater process. The parts of this control system, arranged in block-diagram form to illustrate the basic control function that each part performs, are shown in Fig. 9-19. [Pg.405]

The dependence of the risk parameters on process variables such as the concentrations of monomer, polymer, initiator or catalyst, solvent, water and particle size (in emulsion) and MWD are of paramount importance to establish the safe operation regions of polymerization reactors, and furthermore to develop optimal control strategies imder safe conditions. The maximum pressure, Pmax> and maximum temperature, Tmax achieved during the runaway depends on the process conditions (e.g., the higher the amount of monomer in the reactor and the process temperature, the higher Pmax and Tmax)- Also important is the rate at which the runaway reaches the maximum pressures and temperatures. This rate will provide an indication of the time that the operator/control system of the plant has to react in order to keep the polymerization imder safe conditions. [Pg.339]

The ore hoisting equipment is a top mounted fiction hoist (Koepe winder) with a single skip and counterweight. The motor is air cooled and the heat excess from the motor during wintertime is used for heating up the headframe. The brake units are operated by 2 hydraulic systems. Main transformer, frequency converter and operator control system will be located in a separate building at ground level near the headframe. [Pg.481]

Operational matrix - process design attributes are transposed to form the whats, enabling design of the most effective operational control system. [Pg.184]

The operational control system must meet the following requirements ... [Pg.95]

The operating control system must be flexible enoxagh to allow adjustment of neutron flux during all conditions of operation the sarfety control system must provide a "fail safe" component which is automatically activated under emergency conditions. [Pg.80]

Once this has been accomplished, the activities of all these supply chains are scheduled and their feasibility guaranteed. The simulation itself becomes an operative control system, passing on the work to be completed to the process drivers, suppliers and competence partners (Fig. 14). [Pg.21]

Three dominant themes are discernible in transforming the supply chain, irrespective of their drivers modification of operational control systems, leveraging of emerging technologies, and redesign of the supply chain architecture. [Pg.26]

The other type of system is a safety-related control system, which controls the EUC (rather than shutting it down) such that the risk associated with EUC hazards is kept to a tolerable level. In this case the objective of the SRS is risk control. Version 2 of lEC 61508 is much clearer about the application of risk reduction to protection systems and risk control to continuously operating control systems. Of course, a given EUC could have both a safety-related control system and a protection system depending on the degree of risk presented by the EUC before the SRSs are put in place. [Pg.104]

The operations control system will be driven by CAPP and MRP II systems. The operations control system will be responsible for directing all operations on the manufacturing floor. This will include direct control of automated processing equipment, robots and automated material handling equipment. Where automation is not applied, the system will provide indirect control to the operator through computer terminals (portable or stationary) or printed action documents. The system will also be responsible for maintaining real time location and status control for all materials and work orders on the manufacturing floor. [Pg.69]
