Instead of including all assets in a single depreciation account, it is possible to classify properties into general types, such as machinery and equipment, office furniture and fixtures, buildings, and transportation equipment. The records for these groups are known as classified accounts. A classified account is similar to a composite account because many items are included in the same group, regardless of life characteristics. 

Tests are no available that measure 1,1-dichloroethane in urine, blood, breath and body tissues. Because urine, blood, and breath samples are easily obtained, these samples are examined to determine if a person has been exposed to 1,1-dichloroethane. These tests are not routinely available at a doctor s office and would require special equipment for sampling and detection of the compound. Since most of the 1,1-dichloroethane that is taken into the body leaves within two days, these tests must be done soon after exposure occurs. Although these tests can confirm that a person has been exposed to 1,1-dichloroethane, it is not yet possible to use the test results to predict the type or severity of any health effects that might occur or the level of exposure that may have occurred. Because exposure to 1,1-dichloroethane at hazardous waste sites is likely to include exposure to other similar chemicals at the same time, levels of 1,1-dichloroethane measured through these types of medical tests may not reflect exposure to 1,1-dichloroethane alone. Information regarding tests for the detection of 1,1-dichloroethane in the body is presented in Chapters 2 and 6. 

This table shows the home office hours required by a large contractor to design and procure the different types of equipment normally encountered in a chemical plant. The hours comprise all technical and clerical activities from the start of process design to project closeout. They are intended for a continuous operation, single unit plant with electronic DCS instrumentation built on a direct-hire basis on a clear site and include process-related buildings, such as a motor control center and control room. 

Adjusted hours are the home office hours that would be required by a large engineering contractor to perform a specific scope of work for a plant with normal sized equipment. They are derived from the base hours, adjusted to take into consideration the specific situation e.g., extent of process design required, type of process and instrumentation, special site conditions, extra retrofit work, existing facilities. Owner s participation, etc.
