OECD study

Ottar, B. (1978). An assessment of the OECD study on long range transport of air pollutants (LRTAP), Atmos. Environ. 12, 445-454. [Pg.359]

An OECD study identifies several barriers for a new technology to penetrate the market (OECD, 2002). These are lack of awareness, cognitive dissonance, lack of concern for future generations, fear of and resistance to change and, finally, lack of adequate professional advice. Each of these barriers must be countered with special measures if the acceptance for a new technology, in this case hydrogen, is to be increased. [Pg.266]

Trade across regions would continue to be large, almost 30% of the total production, and even more is traded across national borders. The trends for chemical safety in the OECD study (2001) were predicted to be... [Pg.182]

Substances are classified for labelling by evaluation of their physical, toxicological and ecotoxicological properties. Existing data (eg, from non-GLP and/or non-EC/OECD studies), can be used to classify existing chemical substances and there is no obligation for new testing. For full classification, the Base Set of tests for notification of a new... [Pg.540]

THE OECD STUDY ON LONG RANGE TRANSPORT OF SULPHUR COMPOUNDS ... [Pg.479]

From the model estimates, countries can be grouped roughly into net receivers or net donators of sulphur pollution. For 1974 the estimates showed that countries ranged from those with depositions almost three times their emissions, to others with emissions three times their depositions. In about half of the countries in the OECD study, the total deposition estimated for 1974 exceeded the indigenous emissions. [Pg.481]

The programme provided a first comprehensive insight into the long distance transport of air pollutants on a continental scale. In the course of the OECD study several unknowns were identified which should be taken into account in other research projects. They relate to emission fiata, precipitation data, atmospheric dispersion and deposition processes, atmospheric chemistry, vertical processes, vertical profile measurements by aircraft sampling and the improvement of sampling equipment used in aircrafts. [Pg.481]

The OECD study of 1981, on the costs and benefits of sulphur oxides control, estimated damage for 12 OECD European countries to galvanised steel and its paint coatings in 1974. These included ... [Pg.130]
