The majority of centrifugal pumps have performance curves with the aforementioned profiles. Of course, special design pumps have curves with variations. Eor example, positive displacement pumps, multi-stage pumps, regenerative turbine type pumps, and pumps with a high specific speed (Ns) fall outside the norm. But you ll find that the standard pump curve profiles are applicable to about 95% of all pumps in the majority of industrial plants. The important thing is to become familiar with pump curves and know how to interpret the information. 

To ensure flexibility for possible later additions or changes, the instrumentation has to be selected based on standardized subproducts using national or international norms. Most types of ion-exchange resin suffer some breakdown and volume loss over time because of attrition, excessive heat, or other factors. Water softeners should be inspected annually, and a double backwash procedure should be provided. This generally lifts the broken resin ( fines ) to the top of the bed, where it can be removed and replaced to restore capacity. Allow for 5 to 10% resin operating capacity loss per year because of physical breakdown. At many sites the resin is unfortunately not inspected regularly but merely replaced when a serious decline in operating capacity is noticed. Here a resin life expectancy of, say, 6 to 8 years probably is the norm. 

Economic Considerations Quality systems like the GMPs and the ISO norm do not require operations to be economical it is recognized, however, that zero risk implies infinite costs, and that the type and amount of testing should be scientifically justified such that there is reasonable assurance that a product meets specifications that are in line with the associated risks and the intended use pattern, and still are affordable.

Technical elements concern the existence and the type of standards, norms, guidelines, specifications and procedures. 

It has been shown [14] for both types ofbasis sets (1.1) and (1.2) that a given set of dimension n can be regarded as a member B of a family of basis sets that in the limit n oo become complete both in the ordinary sense and with respect to a norm in the Sobolev space - which is the condition for the eigenvalues and eigenfunctions of a Hamiltonian to converge to the exact ones. However, as to the speed of convergence the two basis sets (1.1) and (1.2) differ fundamentally. 

Preprocessing is the operation which precedes the extraction of latent vectors from the data. It is an operation which is carried out on all the elements of an original data table X and which produces a transformed data table Z. We will discuss six common methods of preprocessing, including the trivial case in which the original data are left unchanged.
