The approaches used for preparation of inorganic nanomaterials can be divided into two broad categories solution-phase colloidal synthesis and gas-phase synthesis. Metal and semiconductor nanoparticles are usually synthesized via solution-phase colloidal techniques,4,913 whereas high-temperature gas-phase processes like chemical vapor deposition (CVD), pulsed laser deposition (PLD), and vapor transfer are widely used for synthesis of high-quality semiconductor nanowires and carbon nanotubes.6,7 Such division reflects only the current research bias, as promising routes to metallic nanoparticles are also available based on vapor condensation14 and colloidal syntheses of high-quality semiconductor nanowires.15... 

The above sections should clearly demonstrate that the study of graphene and its hybrids, especially the latter, has only just begun. Hybrids of graphene with various inorganic nanostructures (nanoparticles, nanowires and nanosheets) are likely to possess many novel properties with potential applications. Graphene-MOF hybrids are yet to be explored extensively and they are found to reveal many useful properties.

A last comment is due on the need for progress in the investigation tools. Further development in the study of potential DNA nanowires requires the advancement of synthesis procedures for the structural modifications, and an extensive effort in X-ray and NMR characterization. These include tin and zinc oxides [9], and indium oxide [30], Once again, ammonia and NO2 gases were used for initial demonstrations. Oxygen had very little effect on the sensing action.
