Since the conjugate odd of tho ketone yields little or no pn>-u]i. by condensation with diazomethane, it seems of doubtful value to conduct the reaction is pure alcohol insofar a epoxide syut-luak i concerned. Further speculation regarding details of the irnetk-.n mechanism will undoubtedly be forthcoming when more experimental information iB available. [Pg.90]

The variety of spin density distributions on the same ligand by changing the metal ions depends on the different weights of the two above contributions. Spin density distributions can also change if a and n mechanisms contribute to different extents. [Pg.44]

Cystatin refers to a diverse family of protein cysteine protease inhibitors. There are three general types of cystatins Type 1 (stefens), which are primarily found in the cytoplasm but can appear in extracellular fluids Type 2, which are secreted and found in most extracellular fluids and Type 3, which are multidomain protease inhibitors containing carbohydrates and that include the kininogens. Cystatin 3 is used to measure renal function in clinical chemistry. See Barrett, A.J., The cystatins a diverse superfamily of cysteine peptidase inhibitors, Biomed. Biochim. Acta 45,1363-1374,1986 Katunuma, N., Mechanisms and regulation of lysosomal proteolysis, Revis. Biol. A note should be added to a principal difference between methods covered in Sections 4.1 and 4.2, respectively. The methods dealt with in the former section are based on some way of labelling the polymer chain. Thus, all the tags should be present in the isolated polymer and if experiments are performed properly and the data obtained processed accordingly, one should get the correct value C. This may not necessarily be true for methods covered in Section 4.2. The catalyst poison may be consumed not only through the adsorption on the active centers (or through the insertion into the transition metal-carbon bond), but also through an interaction with the species which are not operative in the polymerization by Z—N mechanism. It may lead to an increased value of C. ... [Pg.116]
