In Moroccan deposits, cobalt occurs with nickel in the forms of smaltite, skuttemdite, and safflorite. In Canadian deposits, cobalt occurs with silver and bismuth. Smaltite, cobaltite, erythrite, safflorite, linnaeite, and skuttemdite have been identified as occurring in these deposits. AustraUan deposits are associated with nickel, copper, manganese, silver, bismuth, chromium, and tungsten. In these reserves, cobalt occurs as sulfides, arsenides, and oxides. [Pg.370]

The world war made all these sources of supply difficult of access and stimulated interest in the possibilities of local production. Examination of a number of American species of ephedra had already shown them to be devoid of alkaloids, except for the S. American species E. andina, in which Chavezt found ephedrine, and in the United States attention has been given to the experimental cultivation of imported species, notably E. sinica and E. gerardiana a Moroccan type, E. alenda, was found to contain only ). In Australia experimental cultivation of the Indian species E. gerardiana, E. intermedia and E. nebrodensis has been tried and preliminary yields of 1-35, 1-OS and 0-98 per cent, of total alkaloids respectively have been recorded. In Russia, E. equisetina and E. intermedia are available and are considered to be worth exploitation. In Italy various local species have been found to contain mainly i -ephedrine and that in small amount, but better results are recorded for two species already referred to and which are available in Sardinia, viz. E. vulgaris Rich and E. nebrodensis. ... [Pg.635]

What you want if you re making fusion cocktails at home is a designated bartender, as much as a designated driver, or you could be faced with a round of Moroccan martinis. I preferred Tabla s lime drop, a gin and lime with peeled, chopped ginger in it, which adds a nice tasty burn to the drink s sweetness and sourness. Mr. Cardoz said it was an homage to his father, who would drink a gin with lime every Saturday. [Pg.137]

Night vision improvement. In a doubleblind study, graduated THC administration at doses of 0-20 mg (as Marinol) on measures of dark adaptometry and scotopic sensitivity was evaluated. Field studies of night vision were performed among Jamaican and Moroccan fishermen, and mountain dwellers with the LKC Technologies Scotopic Sensitivity Tester-1 (SST-1). Improvements in night vision measures were noted after THC or cannabis. The effect was dose-dependent and cannabinoid-mediated at the retinal level k... [Pg.75]

The production of cannabis resin (also known as hashish) is concentrated in North Africa (Morocco) and in the South-West Asia/Middle East region, particularly in Afghanistan and Pakistan. UNODC surveys conducted in collaboration with the Moroccan authorities revealed a fall in the area of cannabis resin cultivation in that country in recent years, from a peak of 134,000 ha in 2003 to 76,400 ha in 2005. Resin production declined even more strongly, from 3,070 mt in 2003 to 1,070 mt by 2005. Most of this production is consumed in Europe. [Pg.14]

The decline of the importance of Morocco is also reflected in the number of countries citing Morocco as the source country of the cannabis resin found on their markets. Over the 1999-2003 period 31 per cent of countries reporting the origin of cannabis resin cited Morocco as the origin of the hashish found on their markets. By 2005, the proportion of Morocco (including the subsequent transit countries, Spain and Portugal) fell to 20 per cent, reflecting the massive decline of Moroccan cannabis resin production in recent years. [Pg.102]
