Moderate risk

Risk consists of two components the probabiUty of the accident and the consequence. It is not possible to completely characterize risk without both of these components. Thus, a hazard could have low probabiUty of accident but high consequence or vice versa. The result for both cases is moderate risk. [Pg.469]

Class II devices are viewed as moderate-risk devices, and represent the majority of the remaining devices. A device is assigned to Class II if there is sufficient information to establish special controls to augment the general controls and so provide reasonable... [Pg.177]

Moderate Risk Less than 130 mg/dL Greater than or equal to Greater than 160 mg/dL... [Pg.184]

Moderate risk Has three or more risk factors for coronary artery disease Has moderate, stable angina Had a recent myocardial infarction or stroke within the past 6 weeks Has moderate congestive heart failure (NYHA Class 2) Fbtient should undergo a complete cardiovascular work-up and treadmill stress testing to determine tolerance to increased myocardial energy consumption associated with increased sexual activity... [Pg.786]

CNS hemorrhage High risk Moderate risk Rare... [Pg.989]

High-risk NSTE ACS patients should undergo early coronary angiography (within 24 to 48 hours) and revascularization if a significant coronary artery stenosis is found. Moderate-risk patients with positive biochemical... [Pg.60]

Moderate-risk patients with negative biochemical markers may initially undergo a noninvasive stress test, with only those having a positive test proceeding to angiography. [Pg.61]

In patients with NSTE ACS, clinical practice guidelines recommend either PCI or coronary artery bypass grafting revascularization as an early treatment for high-risk patients, and that such an approach also be considered for moderate-risk patients. An early invasive approach results in fewer Mis, less need for revascularization procedures over the next year after hospitalization, and lower cost than the conservative medical stabilization approach. [Pg.61]

For children receiving chemotherapy of high or moderate risk, a corticosteroid plus SSRI should be administered. The best doses or dosing strategy has not been determined. [Pg.317]

Tier 2 review A routine labeling and scientific review of submissions for products associated with moderate risk. This type of review would include evaluation of data to substantiate product performance claims. [Pg.63]

Moderate-risk, penicillin-allergic patients) - 1 g IV over 1 to 2 hours (children 20 mg/kg). Complete infusion within 30 minutes of starting procedure. [Pg.1621]

Schedule (C-lll) III Low to moderate risk of physical dependence, high risk of psychologic dependence prescription must be rewritten after 6 months or five refills (eg, acetaminophen plus codeine). [Pg.442]

Benzodiazepines are commonly prescribed as anxiolytics and sleep medications. They represent a moderate risk for abuse, which has to be weighed against their beneficial effects. Benzodiazepines are abused by some persons for their euphoriant effects, but most often abuse occurs concomitant with other drugs, eg, to attenuate anxiety during withdrawal from opioids. [Pg.722]

When dealing with ordinary industrial operations, profits cannot be predicted with extreme accuracy. In any type of investment a certain amount of risk is always involved, and a chemical venture is an investment. At least moderate risks are involved in most industrial ventures. In general, a 20% return before income taxes would be a minimum acceptable return for such an investment proposition. Therefore the plant proposed here looks promising, and further economic analysis is strongly suggested. [Pg.469]

Sb trisulfide has an intraperitonal lethal dose in rats of 1.0g/kg (Ref 9) and a (human) toxic tolerance of 0.5mg/cm of air (Ref 10). According to Sax (Ref 7) the sulfide presents a dangerous hazard when heated to decompn or in contact with acids or acid fumes, as it emits highly toxic fumes of the oxides of S or Sb. When the sulfide is reacted with w or steam it produces toxic and flammable vapors, and in contact with strong oxidizing matls it reacts in a vigorous exothermic manner. It can also spontaneously react with chlorates and perchlorates with a moderate risk of expin... [Pg.463]

There are three basic principles of investing 1) risk and how risk regulates the rate of return, 2) how diversification moderates risk, and 3) growth through compounding, which is even better when it is tax deferred. [Pg.209]
