Mixing insufficient

Agriculture. Most forages provide insufficient sodium for animal feeding and may lack adequate chloride. Thus salt supplementation is a critical part of a nutritionally balanced diet for animals. In addition, because animals have a definite appetite for salt, it can be used as a deflvery mechanism to ensure adequate intake of less palatable nutrients and as a feed limiter. Salt is an excellent carrier for trace minerals. Salt, either in loose form or as compressed blocks, can be mixed with feed or fed free-choice to improve animal health and productivity (see Feeds and feed additives). 

Flash Point. As a liquid is heated, its vapor pressure and, consequendy, its evaporation rate increase. Although a hquid does not really bum, its vapor mixed with atmospheric oxygen does. The minimum temperature at which there is sufficient vapor generated to allow ignition of the air—vapor mixture near the surface of the hquid is called the dash point. Although evaporation occurs below the dash point, there is insufficient vapor generated to form an igrhtable mixture below that point. 

An LSF of 100 would indicate that the clinker can contain only C S and the ferrite soHd solution. Time saturation factors of 88—94 are frequentiy appropriate for reasonable bumabiUty low LSF indicates insufficient C S for acceptable early strengths, and higher values may render the mix very difficult to bum. Several other weight ratios such as the siUca modulus and the iron modulus are also important (21).

Loss of agitation causing stratification of immiscible layers. Insufficient mixing of reactants results in unwanted accumulation of unreacted reactants. Possibility of runaway reaction upon resumption of agitation. 

With local cathodic protection, the off potential measurement cannot be used directly to check the protective action because, due to the mixed type of installation of the protected object and foreign cathodic structures in the soil, there is a considerable flow of cell currents and equalizing currents. The notes to Eq. (3-28) in Section 3.3 are relevant here, where the // -free potentials must be substantially more negative than the off potential of the protected object. If PVC polymer particles are mixed, at room temperature, with plasticisers the immediate product may take one of two forms. If there is insufficient plasticiser to fill all the gaps between the particle a mush will be produced. If all the voids are filled then the particles will become suspended in the plasticiser and a paste will be formed. In the case of conventional granular polymer, or with emulsion polymer cenospheres, the particles are too large to remain in suspension and will settle out. Therefore compounds used in paste-processes must use polymers with a small particle size. On the other hand there is a lower limit to this, since small particles will have a very high surface/volume ratio and measurable plasticiser absorption will occur at room temperature to give a paste whose viscosity will increase unduly with time. As a consequence paste polymers have an average particle size of about 0.2-1.5 ptm.

The bottoms liquid from any gas plant may be sold as a mixed product. This is common for small, isolated plants where there is insufficient local demand. The proper amount of water must be mixed with the dry cement product to ensure only sufficient water for hydration of the cement. Excess water above that needed for hydration will reduce the final strength of the set cement and leave voids in the cement column that are filled with unset liquid. Insufficient water for proper hydration will leave voids filled with dry unset cement, or result in a slurry too viscous to pump. 

Lakes are prepared by adsorption or precipitation of a soluble dye on an insoluble substrate (e.g., alumina).
