Mini-Summary (Section 4.2.2). To summarize the overall research efforts in polythiophene-based all-PSCs, there are several key factors that need to be considered in order to improve the performance of all-PSCs beyond that achievable for polythiophene-based all-PSCs. [Pg.127]

These new mini video lectures, playable on video iPods, iPhones, and MP3 players as well as on iTunes, include animations and problems for a quick summary of key general chemistry concepts, e-Flashcards in selected modules briefly introduce a key concept and then test student understanding of the basics with a series of questions. Modules are also available separately. Go Chemistry is included in CengageNOW. To purchase, enter ISBN 0-495-38228-0 at www.ichapters.com. [Pg.726]

For a number of other chemicals, the starting point for these reviews was the last full summary and evaluation. The summarized statements prepared previously were incorporated with data published since the previous evaluation. These mini-monographs were prepared for those chemicals for which new epidemiological data and/or experimental carcinogenicity data were available that required review and acceptance by the full plenary meeting of invited experts, because changes in the classifications were anticipated. [Pg.34]

From the above summary of experimental investigations into Uving miniemulsion polymerization, we can see that controlled mini emulsion polymerization (SFRP, ATRP, and RAFT) is less colloidal-stable during polymerization than its non-living counterpart. Colloidal instability leads to phase separation in the worst cases. In improved cases, the latex that results from the controlled mini-... [Pg.237]

A huge interest has been shown in heat transfer in general and boiling in mini- and micro-channels in particular. Many international meeting and conferences were devoted to the subject. Recently Kandlikar [5] published a literature survey on boiling in micro and mini channels summarizing the main investigations in the area. An adapted version of the summary presented by Kandlikar [5] is shown in Appendix 1. [Pg.433]

The present summary will cover only those technologies where the drug formulation itself is used to penetrate the skin via its mechanical energy. It will not describe any technology where a needle is used to puncture the skin, even if the needle is not visible to the patient or only the epidermis is punctured, such as mini-needles, microneedles, pen injectors, or autoinjectors. Also excluded are systems that ablate the skin mechanically or otherwise disrupt its chemical or mechanical structure to increase its permeability, such as laser ablation, microdermal ablation, electroporation, or iontophoresis. These are usually referred to as transdermal drug delivery, but can also be described as needle free. [Pg.1209]

Summary. We describe the design, constroction, and operation of two types of nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) sample probes for use in electrocatalysis/surface NMR studies. The first is an electrochemical NMR cell, which permits observation of NMR signals of surface-adsorbed species under external potential control. This cell also permits conventional voltammograms to be recorded fi-om the actual NMR sample. The second or mini-cell has a long, thin sample region and better sensitivity than the electrochemical NMR cell, but is not capable of voltammetry. Spectra have been obtained for CO, CN and adsorbed on polycrystalline platinum black, as a fimction of applied potential, demonstrating the feasibility of multinuclear NMR studies at electrified interfaces. [Pg.291]

Fig. 1. Summary of dynamin I purification from sheep brain. (A) Salt regulates dynamin binding to SH3 domains. The SH3 domains of the indicated proteins were used as a GST fusion protein on GSH beads to pull-down dynamin I from sheep brain homogenates in the presence of increasing amounts of NaCl. The proteins were separated by SDS-PAGE and stained with Coomassie blue. The arrow indicates dynamin I. Binding to the SH3 domain of amphiphysin II was abolished by high salt concentrations. (B) Summary of the dynamin purification. The Coomassie blue-stained mini-gel shows 15 pi ahquots of fractions obtained during affinity-purification of native dynamin I using peripheral membrane extracts from sheep brain, 35% ammonium sulfate precipitation, and affinity purification on GST-amphiphysin ITSH3 GSH beads. The main protein in the End beads lane is GST-amphiphysin ITSH3. Fig. 1. Summary of dynamin I purification from sheep brain. (A) Salt regulates dynamin binding to SH3 domains. A key feature of the seventh edition is the end-of-chapter summaries, which are mini study guides designed to help students prepare for class exams and later for standardized tests such as the MCAT. When preparing for exams, students will benefit from the bulleted lists of important concepts with highlighted keywords. These mini study guides... [Pg.27]
