Aniline and seven methyl-, chloro-, methoxy-, and nitroanilines were separated on a y-cyclodextrin column (2 = 254 run) using a 92.5/7.5 heptane/IPA mobile phase [609], The k values were tabulated for these compounds for solvents containing 7.5 to 100% IPA and then to 90/10 water/IPA. [Pg.227]

The products produced by interaction of diazonium salts and iodides are unstable and liable to be explosive in the solid state. They are usually the triiodides, but monoiodides have been isolated under specific conditions from diazotised aniline and <7-toluidine. Products prepared from diazotised o-, m- or -nitroanilines, m-chloro-, -methoxy-, or -methyl-aniline are too unstable to isolate, decomposing below 0°C. [Pg.100]

The same authors also introduced a r scale of solvent dipolarity/polarizability [84a]. This n scale is so named because it is derived from solvent effects on the n n electronic transitions of a selection of seven positively solvatochromic nitroaromatics of the type D-C6H4-A, where D and A stand for electron-donor e.g. NMe2) and electron-acceptor e.g. NO2) groups, respectively 4-nitroanisole, A,A-diethyl-3-nitroaniline, 4-methoxy-/ -nitrostyrene, 1-ethyl-4-nitrobenzene, A-methyl-2-nitro-p-toluidine, N,N-diethyl-4-nitroaniline, and 4-(dimethylamino)benzophenone. Given a solvatochromic indicator compound, the n value for a solvent S was defined according to Eq. (7-32) ... [Pg.431]

In a 100ml stainless steel autoclave, o-nitroaniline (2.76g, 20mmol), sulfur (2.57 g, 80 mmol), water (2.0 ml, 110 mmol), ammonium formate (6.30 g, 100 mmol), potassium carbonate (4.14g, 30 mmol) and dimethylacetamide (40 ml) are placed along with a magnetic stirring bar. The reaction is carried out at 180°C for 3h (maximum pressure 10kgcm ). After extraction with 1-butanol, the product (2.52 g, 94%) is recrystallized from 1 1 aqueous methanol. Similarly prepared arc 5-methyl- (27%), 5-methoxy- (36%) and 5-chlorobenzimidazolones (76%),... [Pg.81]

The AMEBA linker " was installed upon NaH-mediated alkylation of Merrifield resin with 4-hydroxy-2-methoxy-benzaldehyde in DMF at 120°C for 5 min under microwave irradiation (Scheme 8.20). The authors then chose to attach 4-methyl-3-nitroaniline to the linker through a previously established two-step reductive amination protocol, involving the imine formation mediated by Ti(0 Pr)4 followed by reduction of the imine using NaBH (OAc)3 (Scheme 8.20). The free amino group was then acylated with 4-(chloromethyl) benzoyl chloride using DIPEA in DMF to form the corresponding amide. [Pg.250]

Also obtained from 2-methyl-6-nitroaniline by a eight-step synthesis. The final step consists in making to react sodinm iodide and trimethylsilyl chloride with 2-methoxy-6-methylbenzophenone in acetonitrile at 130° for 24 h into an autoclave (15%) [6]. [Pg.76]
