Pesticide-residue analysis (PRA) is one of the most widely studied subjects in analytical laboratories working in the field of food safety. PRA has been routinely performed for more than 30 years in many laboratories around the world because of the need for strict control of these 

The presence of pesticide metabolites in food is also a matter of concern, as they can be found at levels higher than the parent compoimd. The most relevant metabolites are normally included in the residue definition and should form a part of the target analytes of the method. However, not much attention is paid to other metabolites that also might be present in food samples. Investigating pesticide metabolites is an analytical challenge. We will surely see more advances in the near future. It should be noted that current research can be focused on
