Method of Cure

Some of the technical properties of ebonite are appreciably affected by the method of cure. In open steam curing, the external pressure is limited to a few atmospheres of steam pressure. The direct [Pg.42]

Alternative Methods of Curing. The presence of salt in hides and skins has been a problem for taimers. Moreover, the quantity of salt, usually 10—20% by weight in cured hides, is an environmental problem. In the discharge of the water from the rewet and washing, the soluble soHds are normally greater than 20, 000 mg/L. This amounted to 2000 4000 mg/L in the combined waste stream of the taimery. [Pg.83]

Over the years, in various delis, Mr. Scotto explained, he learned how to cook corned beef and pastrami. He can also pump tongue—a method of curing beef tongue by putting a needle into the artery and injecting it with brine until it swells. [Pg.112]

In these cases we must look for a method of curing the effluent problems and once again H2O2 offers a competitive advantage. [Pg.359]

Also called hot air cure. A method of curing, mainly used for footwear. The articles are placed in a double-walled vulcaniser, the heat for curing being obtained from steam circulating between the double walls. Steam does not therefore come in contact with the articles in the vulcaniser itself. Dry Rubber Compound... [Pg.24]

There is a volume reduction of about 6% on vulcanization which necessitates a large allowance for shrinkage and special methods of curing like step-up cures. [Pg.35]

Thick walled tubes are built-up to the required thickness of say 25 to 50mm from calendered sheets of about 1 mm thickness and the same is wrapped with wet cloth which gives additional pressure when shrunk, thus giving better consolidation. The tubes are built up on mandrels. The preferred method of curing is by using hot water. [Pg.41]

Crivello, J. V, Heat Curable Cationically Polymerizable Compositions and Method of Curing Same with Onium Salts and Reducing Agents, U.S. Patent No. 4,216,288, 1980. [Pg.621]

Although Boerhaave praised the use of menstrua in medicine, he also admitted that in chemical preparations the specific essence of a substance is altered by the fire. For this reason he recommended the use of simple medicines and he repeated after Van Helmont that he is happy, who could with safety and expedition cure diseases by means of crude simples-, this being the ancient method of cure and recommended in Scripture. This admonition, he argued, should be carefully remembered. ... [Pg.202]

Sheet linings fall into four different categories when classified by method of "curing"—a word with many shades of meaning. [Pg.125]

Materials. The following Epon prepolymers (Shell Chemical Company) were used Epons 825, 828, 834 (all liquid to semisolid) and 1001, 1002, and 1004 (all solids). Approximate compositions (degree of polymerization) were determined by gel permeation chromatography. Bimodal blends were made by mixing Epon 825 with Epon 1004, as shown in Table 1. Sample preparation and the method of curing have been described in the preceding paper (29). [Pg.138]

The varied methods of curing and aging tobacco cause only a small decrease in the total nitrogen content, but significant changes occur as a result of organic transformations from one type of nitrogenous compound to another, for... [Pg.750]

Strength. The strength of plain concrete depends on several factors proportioning of ingredients, particularly water-cement ratio, time, temperature, and method of curing. A rich mixture (1 IMor 1 1 2) develops a compressive strength of approximately 4,000 psi for use in thin and heavily reinforced concrete structural beams and columns. Floor slabs and structural members requiring 2,000 to 3,000 psi concrete are made from a 1 2 3H mixture, while a lean mixture of 1 3 6 is used for massive concrete abutments or fills. [Pg.306]

I. I. We now ftep forwards to illuftrate fome of the phoenom-ena of difeafes, and to trace out their moft efficacious methods of cure and ffiall commence tlie fubjecl with a Ihort deferip-lion of the circulatory fyftem. [Pg.254]

The mucilaginous diabetes will require the fame treatment, whidi is moft efiicacious in the drepfy, and will be deferibed below. I muft add, that the diet and medicines above mentioned, are ftrongly recommended by various authors, as by Morgan, Willis, Harris, and Etmuller but more hiftories of the fuccefsful treatment of thefe difeafes are wanting to fully afeertain the moft efficacious methods of cure. [Pg.298]
