Nitrogen total

The nitro-salicylic acid is reduced to amino-salicylic acid by the action of sulphurous acid formed by interaction of sulphuric acid and sodium thiosulphate. [Pg.95]

The ammonium sulphate on distillation with NaOH gives ammonia [Pg.95]

The liberated ammonia is absorbed in a known volume of standard sulphuric acid solution containing methyl red indicator [Pg.95]

The acid used for absorbing ammonia is determined by blank titration with standard solution of sodium hydroxide. [Pg.95]

The quantity coming from air is practically invariant and corresponds to a level approaching 130 mg/Nm. Nitrogen present in the fuel is distributed as about 40% in the form of NO and 60% as N2. With 0.3% total nitrogen in the fuel, one would have, according to stoichiometry, 850 mg/Nm of NO in the exhaust vapors. Using the above hypothesis, the quantity of NO produced would be (//-U... [Pg.269]

Cocoa protein = (total nitrogen — milk nitrogen) X 4.7. Milk protein = milk nitrogen x 6.38 appears in parentheses. Total carbohydrate by difference using cocoa nitrogen x 5.63. [Pg.97]

UF suspensions comprise a family of Hquid products in which the UF reaction products are present as a microcrystalline dispersion of longer-chain UF polymers (CWIN) in a water solution of urea and water-soluble UF compounds. Typically, these products contain about 25% of the total nitrogen as CWIN. [Pg.130]

Table 2 gives the typical total nitrogen analysis and the unreacted urea and UF polymer distribution of various UF reaction products. [Pg.130]

Specifications, Analysis, and Toxicity. Dicyandiamide is identified quaHtatively by paper chromatography and quantitatively by ultraviolet spectrometry of the chromatogram. More commonly, total nitrogen analysis is used as a purity control or the dicyandiamide is converted by hydrolysis to guanylurea, which is determined gravimetrically as the nickel salt (50). Methods based on the precipitation of silver dicyandiamide picrate are sometimes used (51). Dicyandiamide can also be titrated with tetrabutylammonium hydroxide ia pyridine solution. Table 4 gives a typical analysis of a commercial sample. Dicyandiamide is essentially nontoxic. It may, however, cause dermatitis. [Pg.371]

Values givea are maximum values unless otherwise iadicated. N is total nitrogen. [Pg.441]

Using the above conditions, some representative results are given in Table 1 for total nitrogen content assay of pure homogeneous high energy compds by FNAA... [Pg.358]

Total Nitrogen Content in "Pure" Explosives by High Precision FNAA... [Pg.358]

For this particular product, in addition to a decrease in analysis time, a non-destructive method is especially desirable because of other physical tests that are also required on each sample By FNAA, the total nitrogen content of a sample is first detd and then related to compn of the mixture. Since Octols contain no ingredients other than pure TNT (18.50% N) and pure HMX (37.84%), the following linear relationship is derived from the ealed nitrogen content of each ingredient ... [Pg.359]

In Table 2, results are given comparing the three above FNAA techniques for total nitrogen and corresponding HMX content of three synthetic Octol samples containing 70, 60 and 80% HMX respectively. Chemical analysis by extraction is also included as another basis for comparison. An 80/20 Octol (80% HMX) was used as the reference standard for the activation assays... [Pg.359]
