Mean unweighted

Excerpted from Reference 20. The unit is Angstrom. Mean = unweighted sample mean. 50% = average over the median quartile of sample data. (7 = standard deviation, n = number of data. [Pg.84]

Estimating equation (7.1) yielded an estimate of p of 0.0054 (f-stat = 3.01). This implies that the overall unweighted mean annual rate of FSS price increase of vaccine products during the period 1993-2002 was 0.54%. During the same period, the mean annual rate of increase of the U.S. Consumer Price Index was 2.44%. Hence this implies that the realESS price (the ratio of the nominal FSS price to the Consumer Price Index) declined at an average annual rate of 1.90%. [Pg.131]

Mansheld (1986, p. 175) provides estimates of the percentage of inventions that would not have been commercially introduced if patent protection could not have been obtained, by industry, for 12 industries during 1981-1983. He found that 65% of pharmaceutical inventions would not have been introduced if patent protection could not have been obtained for the 11 other industries he studied, the (unweighted) mean percentage of inventions that would not have been introduced was only 8%. [Pg.142]

Note Numbers in parentheses in the all of the tables indicate the estimated standard deviation for that particular value brackets indicate VS,(x, - x)2/(n - 1) for several values whose unweighted arithmetic average is given, with x the mean of n values. In some cases, indicated by an asterisk, brackets are used to indicate VS,(x, - x)2/n(n - 1). b The ligating atom is noted after the numeral. [Pg.146]

Because the inequalities among the various mean diameters are usually strengthened when the drop sizes are widely dispersed, the ratio of some higher-order moment to a lower-order moment is often useful as a measure of the dispersion of the drop sizes. For example, the coefficient of variation for the surface-weighted size distribution is a function of the ratio of the weight-weighted mean drop size to the volume-surface mean drop size. The variance of the drop-size distribution may also be expressed in terms of the moments of the unweighted size distribution. [Pg.163]

Black dashed curve is the polynomial regression curve derived from the unweighted mean isotopic composition as a function of elevation used by Garzione et al. (2006) as corrected by Garzione et al. (2007) and the bold line is the linear regression relationship preferred by Garzione et al. (2007). Figure 10. S180 versus elevation for various groupings of the data presented by Gondiantini et al. For statistical evaluation of the different clothing modalities, "the unweighted means analysis of variance for repeated measures" was used. [Pg.179]

Our results show a 4.3cr variation in a over the redshift range 0.5 < z < 3.5. We note that the weighted means do not differ significantly from the unweighted means for either sample. This indicates that we have not grossly underestimated the error bars on some small number of points, allowing them to dominate the overall weighted mean. Therefore, our results seem statistically self consistent. [Pg.571]

Calibration curves for DEC in human plasma were linear using unweighted linear regression in the concentration range of 100-2000 ng/mL, with correlation coefficients greater than or equal to 0.9934 for all curves. The limit of quantification (LOQ) in human plasma was accepted as 70 ng/mL. Plasma samples were spiked to a nominal concentration of 70 ng/mL with DEC working solution and internal standard and carried through the extraction procedure. At the LOQ, the C.V. (n = 6) of the measured concentration was 4.5 %, and the deviation of the mean of the measured concentrations from the nominal value was -6.1 %. [Pg.642]

Applying the first method, four different criteria, namely Dixon s test, Grubbs test, the coefficient of dewness test and the coefficient of kurtosis test are used at a significance level of a = 0.05. If a laboratory mean for each element as single unweighted value was declared to be an outlier by any criterion, it is rejected and the whole procedure repeated until no more outliers could be identified. The remaining laboratory means are then combined in the usual way to provide estimates of the overall mean (consensus value) and its associated standard deviation, standard error and 95% confidence interval. [Pg.237]

In equation (2), P is the bulk gas saturation pressure P(- is the pore filling pressure R is the gas constant and T is the temperature. In the original HK method, the mean heat of adsorption is computed from an unweighted average of the gas-solid interaction potential taken over the accessible volume of the pore ... [Pg.477]

The term applied indicates the application-oriented objective of this work. It was an important criterion of selection not to supply merely a collection of unweighted facts and various practical examples of homogeneous catalysis. In this context applied means a selection of homogeneous catalyzed processes, which on the one hand have already arrived at industrial success (e. g., cai bonyla-tion of alcohols, hydroformylation, Wacker-Hoechst process). On the other hand, the book also includes homogeneously catalyzed reactions of which the state-of-the-art indicates commercialization in the near future. Moreover, for scientific reasons the inclusion of newer catalytic reactions or reaction principles is required, even when commercialization is not yet in sight. Both aspects are covered by the sections Applied Catalysis and Recent Developments . [Pg.1463]
