Management policies have an all pervasive effect on the activities of individuals at every level in the organization. The safety-related factors at the management level which have been considered in the organizational systems perspective in Chapter 2, will be summarized here to complete the general classification scheme of PIFs.

Also an overview was given of the organisational factors necessary for a successful implementation of a NMMS. 

Each of the examples shown represent a user "view of basic data, which have an environmental application in mind. Data management may be required to provide such "summary information rather than simple tabulations, which rarely provide an interpretative message in themselves. However, such simple displays serve only as a guide for more comprehensive analyses of the many factors and interactions underlying environmental quality data. Powerful numerical analysis schemes include source modeling, receptor modeling and factor analysis.
