LOGISTIC procedure

Psychological reactivity within a chemical-threat environment is a critical factor in determining situational outcome (see the other articles in this issue). Rapid CN (or other chemical weapon) detection or other means of confirming or dismissing suspicion of CN exposure is therefore required to ensure the application of appropriate medical and logistical procedures. 

Modern procedures of material flow projection within complex logistic procedures require the integration of risk management systems with the aim of creating safe material flows. 

Spare rotors are frequently part of a new compressor contract. A deci sion must be made regarding the testing of the spare rotor. The recommended practice is to mechanically run spare rotors, using the same procedures used for the main. As a matter of logistics, the compressor is usually shipped with the last run rotor. If a performance test has been specified, it can be run before the rotors are changed and both rotors performance tested. This would not be economical, however. 

There are statistical procedures available to determine whether the data can be fit to a model of dose-response curves that are parallel with respect to slope and all share a common maximal response (see Chapter 11). Another important insight obtained from this example is related to the number of Monte Carlo trials which must be averaged to obtain a comparison value to the experimentally observed quantities. In order to produce a reasonable estimate of the distribution a suitable ratio of shimmer to measurement error must be achieved. A reasonable value based on experience only was found to be 0.2. In this example 100 Monte Carlo trials were required. With such a large number of trials computer logistics are an important concern. All of those data need to be present on a given observation in order for a statistical modeling procedure such as PROC LOGISTIC to be useful. There are also connections between the Cochran—Mantel—Haenszel procedures and logistic regression for binary and ordinal data, but these issues are beyond the scope of this text. 

Here, one needs to consider the logistics i.e., sample loading, sample preparation time (some samples may require complicated treatment like preenrichment steps for Salmonella detection), assay procedures i.e., time consuming protocols entailing numerous pipetting and washing steps could be automated to free up personnel time. Other considerations include assay design for multiple assay to be performed at the same time. 

If the avoidance of deactivation by poisoning is difficult, could a partially deactivated catalyst be regenerated by chemical or physical means In the oil and chemical industry, catalyst reactivation is a standard procedure, done sometimes in situ or after removal from the reactor. Logistically, it does not seem to be feasible to remove an automotive... 

Another alternative is to prevent modifications to the records at the data collection and acquisition domains. The permanent repository system may be located at the business logistic systems level.5 At this level, the electronic records are either maintained while in active use, or are maintained off-line when their use is less frequent. This setting must be evaluated and, preferably, documented as part of a company wide strategy. The selected settings require procedural and technological controls.
