Level measurement load cell

Equipments such as load cells can be used for this purpose. If a precise measurement of load is to be made on a foundation, then it is more appropriate to install the load cell in the structural element at the founding level. [Pg.10]

Load cell transmitters are used to measure bulk solids level when accuracy is important. [Pg.314]

All vessels were fitted with external wall thermocouples (3 mm, stainless steel, sheathed type K). Interior fluid temperatures, vapor and liquid, were measured on several levels at a single, near-eentral, vertieal position eorresponding to the fill-level gauge connection with similar, though 1.5-mm diameter, thermocouples. Both vapor and liquid pressures were determined from remote ealibrated pressure transducers. The target tank was mounted on a frame supported on four fire-proteeted load cells these were used to determine the variation in propane mass with PRV aetion. [Pg.474]

The dispersal pan was mounted on load cells that allowed determination of total amount of chemical released into the pan. Heat flux sensors were placed at locations downwind and crosswind from the pan containing the released material. These were evidently to measure the amount of radiant heat. These locations had two heights at which measurements were recorded, 3 and 6 ft above ground level. In addition, temperatures were recorded at three locations (1) the air temperature approximately 3 ft above the pan bottom, (2) the reaction temperature approximately 3 in above the chemical level, and (3) the chemical temperature approximately 2 in above the pan bottom. [Pg.526]

The test frame had been equipped with numerous displacement and acceleration transducers. In particular, the displacements at the base level and at the first and second floors were measured. Moreover, a displacement transducer was positioned in order to measure the transversal displacement of each dissipating device. Finally, acceleration in transversal and longitudinal directions was measured at the first and at the second floors (Diaferio et al. 2010). Due to the geometrical configurations of the panel and of the frame, it was not possible to moimt a load cell to measure the transversal shear load acting on each panel. [Pg.293]

Stiffer transducers have been made with strain gages (Macosko and Starita, 1971 Drislane et al., 1974). These devices can be very sensitive to temperature changes (Franck, 1985a). Very stiff and more thermally stable are piezoelectric transducers. Laun and Hirsch (1989) were able to measure stress overshoot and stress relaxation in less than 10 ms with a torque and normal force quartz load cell. However, it is difficult to get low torque levels with piezoelectric transducers. Furthermore, they are capacitance devices with a slowly decaying signal, making it difficult to accurately measure long relaxation processes. [Pg.343]

Another technique that has been employed effectively to minimize noise is to use some sort of tank weighing method, illustrated in Figure 7.8. In this application, a load cell is placed under each tank support in order to measure the mass of the tank. The outputs are sent to an averaging weight transmitter, and then to a weight/level converter... [Pg.152]

The carried out investigation is an attempt to combine the speckle photography with the pull-out method applied to the SFRC, From the obtained results the distribution of the fibre strain and stress as well as the effective fibre-matrix bond distribution at each level of loading have been determined along the fibre. To confirm the high accuracy of the results the compliance between values of pull-out load measured by means of a load cell and from force distribution in the fibre along its length (Fig.7) is presented in Fig.12. [Pg.360]
