Legal situation

It is unreahstic to expect that at any point in the foreseeable future Congress will reverse direction, reduce the effect of regulatoiy controls, or reestabhsh the preexisting legal situation in which private companies are free to construct major industrial facihties with little or no restraint by federal regiilation.

Another type of obstacle to behavior change is the occurrence of a crisis that threatens to disrupt therapy or threatens the well-being of the client. Frequently, these crises involve extreme emotional responses or mood problems, such as explosive anger and suicidal behavior. In other cases, a crisis might involve a legal situation. The professional will need to respond quickly and effectively to this type of situation in order to defuse it.

In contrast to the important advances in biochemistry, medical progress in the cannabinoid field has been rather limited, possibly due to the legal situation.
