The time variation of the mean and maximum heater temperature is presented in Fig. 6.39. The mean heater temperature (i.e., the average temperature of the whole heater) changed in the range of ATav = lOK. The maximum heater temperature changed in the range of ATmax = 6 K. Comparison between Figs. 6.37,6.38 and 6.39, shows that the time period (frequency) is the same for the pressure drop, the fluid temperature at the outlet manifold, and the mean and maximum heater temperature fluctuations. It also allows one to conclude that these fluctuations are in phase. [Pg.315]

C NMR spectra are recorded for a low molecular weight atactic PP dissolved in a variety of solvents over a broad temperature range [293 - 393 K). Comparison of chemical shifts calculated via the y effect method with the observed resonances, whose relative chemical shifts are solvent independent, permits their assignment to most of the methyl heptad, methylene hexad, and methine pentad stereosequences. Agreement between observed and calculated chemical shifts requires y effects, he., upfield chemical shifts produced by a gauche arrangement of carbon atoms separated by three bonds, of ca. - 5 ppm for the methyl and methine carbons and ca. - 4 ppm for the methylene carbons. [Pg.167]

The carbon di oxi de/lemon oil P-x behavior shown in Figures 4, 5, and 6 is typical of binary carbon dioxide hydrocarbon systems, such as those containing heptane (Im and Kurata, VO, decane (Kulkarni et al., 1 2), or benzene (Gupta et al., 1 3). Our lemon oil samples contained in excess of 64 mole % limonene so we modeled our data as a reduced binary of limonene and carbon dioxide. The Peng-Robinson (6) equation was used, with critical temperatures, critical pressures, and acentric factors obtained from Daubert and Danner (J 4), and Reid et al. (J 5). For carbon dioxide, u> - 0.225 for limonene, u - 0.327, Tc = 656.4 K, Pc = 2.75 MPa. It was necessary to vary the interaction parameter with temperature in order to correlate the data satisfactorily. The values of d 1 2 are 0.1135 at 303 K, 0.1129 at 308 K, and 0.1013 at 313 K. Comparisons of calculated and experimental results are given in Figures 4, 5, and 6. [Pg.210]

A similar comparison between the difference in the heats of formation of Sr2+ and Pb2+ compounds and the difference in the heats of formation of Ca2+ and Cd2+ compounds is made in Fig. 7. That is, the polarizability sequence shown by the (N-2) ions, where N is the Group valence, is compared with that shown by the normal B-metal ions. The same type of result is achieved in Fig. 8 by comparing the differences in the heats of formation of K+ and Tl+ compounds with the difference between the heats of formation of Na+ and Ag+ compounds. (The Pb2+ ion is a little larger than the Sr2+ ion the Sr2+/Sn2+ comparison would have been better, but the data for Sn2+ are not so extensive as those for Pb2+. Again the T1+ ion is a little larger than the K+ ion and is better compared with an average of K+ and Rb+ (T1+ ionic radius is 1.40, K+ 1.33, Rb+ 1.48 A), but the results obtained are essentially the same as for the T1+/K+ comparison.)... [Pg.273]
