A glance at the Wintons books or the treatise edited by Jacobs discloses the widespread journal and bulletin sources of articles on food composition. In the Lee chapter on vegetables (in the latter treatise), there are approximately 100 journals cited in 433 references. Those cited most frequently were Journal of Biological Chemistry, Plant Physiology, Journal of Agricultural Research, Pood Research, Biochemical Journal, Contributions from Boyce Thompson Institute, Proceedings of the American Society for Horticultural Science, Biochemische Zeitschrift, Journal of Nutrition, and Journal of the American Chemical Society, The first had 36 citations and the tenth had 13 citations. [Pg.232]

Additional abstract sources are Chemisches Zentralblatt, Analytical Abstracts, and the Bibliography Section of the Journal of Chromatography. As pointed out previously, any research journal may have an article in which GC was used. In this case, the researcher should go to the journal for the specific area and/or topic, for example. Analytical Biochemistry, Food Technology, Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, Journal of the American Oil Chemist s Society, Clinical Chemistry, Journal of Chemical Physics. [Pg.34]

Wiley recognized the opportunity for the introduction of a series of books within the theme Agrochemicals and Plant Protection with a wide scope that includes chemistry, biology and biotechnology in the broadest sense. This series is effectively a replacement for the successful Progress in Pesticide Biochemistry and Toxicology , edited by Hutson and Roberts, which has run to nine volumes. In addition, it complements the international journals Pesticide Science and Journal of the Science of Food and Agriculture, published by Wiley on behalf of the Society of Chemical Industry. [Pg.435]

Journal of the Science of Food and Agriculture [J. Sci. Food AgriC] (1950-). Publisher The Society of Chemical Industry/Wiley. [Pg.34]

It is likely that in the future journals such as Pood Technology and the Journal of Pood Agriculture of the Science of Pood and Agriculture and the Journal of Agricultural and Pood Chemistry, published by the American Chemical Society, will assume greater importance as sources of information for the food industries It would be helpful if food articles were not so widely dispersed. [Pg.232]

In a study of 109 references given in a chapter (Mrak and Mackinney) devoted to this topic, the five leading journals are Food Industries, now Food Engineering, California Agricultural Experiment Station, circulars. Journal of the Society of Chemical Industry (London), Food Technology, and Advances in Food Research. The latter is issued annually. In all, 30 different journals comprise the sources used in this chapter. [Pg.234]

For the publication of original matter and occasional reviews, some papers in dairy chemistry, but not very many, appear in American Chemical Society journals, as also in the Journal of Biological Chemistry, The main publication in the field in this country is the Journal of Dairy Science, Qi the American Dairy Science Association. This, however, covers a very much broader field than chemistry. The Journal of Milk and Food Technology, which is the official organ of the International Association of Milk and Food Sanitarians, is primarily concerned with papers of public health interest. The Journal of the Association of Official Agricultural Chemists contains some reports on analytical methods appertaining to the dairy field. There are also numerous trade magazines in which scientific and technical articles appear from time to time. [Pg.261]

Produced by the American Chemical Society since 1967, including journal articles, books, conferences, reports, dissertations and patents. The authoritative source of publications on all aspects of chemistry and chemical engineering. Produced by CAB International, U.K., covering journals, books, theses, reports, conference proceedings and patents. Includes a broad range of agriculture and biological information. Covets publications 1972 to date. [Pg.37]
