Jeffamine® products

The Jeffamines brand polyoxyalkyleneamines are a part of an ever-expanding family of Industrial chemistry. They contain primary amino groups attached to the terminus of a poly ether backbone. They are thus polyether amines. The polyether backbone is based either on propylene oxide (PO), ethylene oxide (EO), or mixed EO/PO. The Jeffamines product family consists of monoamines, diamines, and triamines, which are available in a variety of molecular weights, ranging up to... [Pg.151]

The ATPEs have a poly(propylene oxide) backbone widi amine endgroups, as shown in Scheme 4.4. There are several routes to such materials,25 but the only one in current commercial production is die direct amination of polyether polyols. A line of uretiiane-grade ATPEs is made by Huntsman under the tradename Jeffamine. Mono-, di-, and trifunctional products are available in molecular weights up to 5000 g/m. [Pg.223]

We have described a straightforward method for the synthesis of three directional ester, carboxylic acid and amine terminated Dendritic molecules from Jeffamine all of the products were soluble in most of the organic solvents, In addition,... [Pg.156]

General Procedure A (esterification of amine) 1 A 50 wt% methanol solution of methyl acrylate (17 g, 0.2 mol) was added to the methanolic solution of Jeffamine T-3000 (100 g, 0.033 mol). This reaction was allowed to stir at room temperature under a nitrogen atmosphere for 48 h. The reaction was then heated to 50°C for 1 h. methanol and excess methyl aerylate were removed by rotary evaporator. After the dialysis using membrane filter with a MWCO of 3 D in methanol, the product was obtained as a yellow viscous oil (6 g, 98%). H NMR (CDCl, 5),... [Pg.157]

A reactor was charged with 96% active bis(perfluorobutylsulfonyl)imine (1.26 mol) dissolved in water (760 g) and then treated with Jeffamine XJT-500 (0.66 mol) at 70°C over 30 minutes. The mixture was stirred an additional 15 minutes and the pH adjusted to 7-8. The solution was then concentrated under reduced pressure and 1042 grams of product isolated as an amber honey-like liquid. [Pg.18]

The two-part epoxy adhesive, readily available in hardware stores or other consumer outlets, comes in two tubes. One tube contains the epoxy resin, the other contains an amine hardener. Common diamine room temperature epoxy curing agents are materials such as the polyamides, available under the trade name Versamid. These polyamides are the reaction products of dimer acids and aliphatic diamines such as diethylenetriamine [111 -40-0], C4H13N3. Other room temperature curing agents are triethylenetetraamine [112-24-3], and the polypropylene glycol diamines, known as the Jeffamines. The... [Pg.232]

In recent work we have used Jeffamines to good effect. These products are polyetheramines marketed by Texaco. Addition of these amines to the phosphates produces a swollen colloidal suspension in which the layers are... [Pg.495]

Toluene containing the diepoxide, Epikote E828, and the Jeffamine was dispersed in the chitosan solution. The starting oil-phase products are miscible, and a stable miniemulsion can be formed. During the crossHnking reaction between the chitosan and the epoxide, phase separation between the toluene and the polymer product occurs, and in the case of appropriate spreading coefficients, as reported earher, capsules are formed [73]. [Pg.61]
