Internet emails

The NDT Newsgroup and other forums are playing an important role in expediting meeting and communieation among your NDT colleagues on the Internet - Email is the most important tool for that. Not only technical discussions but also business to business or even direct inquiries are today handled via the Internet. Statistics are presented with more information on specific usage. 

A typical (there are other, more complicated schemes) Internet Email address consists of a user name and a mail domain separated by the character (pronounced at ). The complete address is case-insensitive. An Email address does not...

I encourage everyone to use encryption. Conventional email offers no protection from disclosure attacks (where someone reads your private mail). You may consider it paranoia to assume someone is monitoring your outgoing mail however, it is perfectly reasonable to assume that someone is reading my incoming mail given the nature of my Internet personality. I use PGP and I recommend that you do too.

The WHOIS service searches a database of domain names and provides email addresses, mailing addresses and telephone numbers of people responsible for a particular domain [5]. This information is provided by the Internet Registration service (InterNic). The WHOIS service is accessible by Internet users using telnet, via e-mail, and by the whois command. A limitation of this service is that it only contains information about the top-level domains, but no information about subdomains and individual computers. Moreover there is no cooperation between the distributed WHOIS databases [4],...

These are the Proceedings of the 13 Symposium on Bioluminescence and Chemiluminescence held at Pacifico Yokohama, Yokohama, Japan from 2-6 August 2004. This series of symposia started in Brussels in 1978, and a list of the other Proceedings volumes appears at the end of this Preface. As in previous symposia, delegates came from far and wide and in all 18 countries were represented. Communications between delegates and the Organising Secretariat was almost entirely via the Internet and email. Webnucleo s Nuclear Decay Tool allows an internet user to follow isotopic changes that occur due to a-decay and P-decay. In its current version, the user inputs an initial abundance distribution and a decay interval. The Webnucleo server computes the abundance changes and then emails the user the final results. A soon-to-be-released version of the tool will allow will users to upload their own decay rates. 

Webnucleo.org is a living web site. As we develop, we release new tools or new versions of old tools, and we retire old versions. Our protocol is to announce any such changes via the Webnucleo mail list. This low-volume (typically one to two emails a month) mail list is available to any interested internet user. The mail list is hidden, which means your identity as a subscriber is not available to others. 

Note that the standard is not intended to be used for assuring networks which provide the infrastructure for general HIT products which are not medical devices. Thus a network used only to support a simple Electronic Patient Record, email and internet access in a healthcare organisation would not typically be included within the scope of the standard.

Click on the internet address and access the manufacturers website or click on the email address and send them a message (if you are Internet enabled). 

If your recruiters don t give these potential employees fast, accurate, and courteous turnaround, you will lose them. Checking and reviewing internet inquiries and apphcations should be part of the recruiter s daily morning routine. Your internet recruiter should check the databases of the internet recruiting sites that you subscribe to for any apph-cants who may qualify. The internet recruiter s computer should immediately receive all internet applications. This will allow the recruiter to respond quickly and possibly get to a one-on-one email or voice discussion.

The notion of combining sales with support services lies at the core of the marketing and operations interface, but it is not exclusive to the Internet (see e.g., Ak in and Harker, 1999). However, the Internet s customer-driven approach to product information, mass-customization capabilities, and asynchronous communication modes make it a better suited channel for that practice since it allows more accurate targeting and is less intrusive than other contact modes (e.g., Anderson, 2000 reported that among customers purchasing a new computer at IBM, 80% sign up voluntarily for newer product information emails as part of product support).
