Internal Foreign Bodies

Internal foreign bodies, that is, foreign bodies embedded in the food material, are a nightmare for food plant quality monitoring. Detection systems are generally based on X-ray, the absorbance of which depends on the atomic number and concentration of the material [151]. But very often. X-rays are not sensitive to intrinsic foreign bodies such as stem, pits, skin, or pieces or hair, because the tissues are not significantly different in their atomic number. [Pg.321]
