It is evident that a completely consistent classification of organic-inorganic mesoporous hybrid materials based on silica is hard to deduce. Before we proceed, some (hopefully) clarifying remarks on this issue will be made.

Indirectly detected, through-bond NMR correlation spectra between C and H nuclei are reported in solid state. The capabilities of the new method are demonstrated using naturally abundant organic-inorganic mesoporous hybrid materials.
