Innovation and integration

For both approaches, MODELKEY developed innovative and integrative models and experimental tools. 

Furthermore, we need to practice open innovation and integrated science to extend our technologies and products into entirely new markets and new applications. 

The emphasis on innovation and integrated science is further strengthened through collaborations. DuPont has, in recent years, established substantial alliances with various research entities around the world. The foremost example of this is the 38 million DuPont-led industry, academia, and government consortium for the development of renewable energy and feedstock technologies, known as the Integrated Corn-Based Bioproducts Refinery (ICBR) project.

The user inspectorate must fulfil the same technical criteria as the notified body. In addition, it must be organisationally identifiable and demonstrate its impartiality. It must not engage in any activities that might conflict with its independence of judgement and integrity. Given that the authorisation of user inspectorates to carry out conformity assessment is an innovation for technical harmonisation at Union level, the Commission shall monitor the application of this measure and evaluate its effects three years after the coming into force of the directive.

Although, as stated at the beginning of this chapter, novel IT strategies cannot transform the pharmaceutical industry the discovery, development, and delivery to the patient of innovative new medicines meeting a variety of unmet medical needs is entirely dependent on the successful implementation and integration of powerful, predictive, and pervasive computing. 

The materials of greatest interest in view of fundamental understanding and design are the polymer electrolyte membrane and the catalyst layers. They fulfill key functions in the cell and at the same time offer the most compelling opportunities for innovation through design and integration of advanced materials.

As the Part 11 requirements are subject to interpretation through field review they will no doubt be modified. Additional changes wiU result from technological innovation and from the integration of innovative requirements (dual signature approvals, e.g.) into norms of system design, but the intent of Part 11 is critical and permanent.
