Results of collaboration among different industries and research institutes to produce a new concept of small-scale reformer for distributed hydrogen production are presented in this work. [Pg.350]

The most important development in the field of open architectures for production systems was the European initiative OSACA (Open System Architecture for Controls with Automation Systems). It is a company-spanning open control architecture. Since 1992, the consortium of the project consisted of control and machine manufacturers as well as of end users from the different industries and research institutes. Other initiatives in this field are ... [Pg.926]

This review shows that biofiber-reinforced biopol5mier composites have the potential to replace conventional composites. As the production of these composites increases with time because of increase in the range of their applications, their cost, which is a big obstacle in their development at the moment, will inevitably come down. Governments, industry, and research institutions throughout the world will have to make concerted efforts in the development of these materials, which will make planet Earth a more hospitable place to live. [Pg.371]

RF Technical Physics and Automation Research Institute is ready to production and supply computer industrial tomograph, scanning devices, measuring units, soft-hardware interfaces connecting the measuring units with computer and the adapted program complexes for the industrial tomography. [Pg.601]

ICAITI. An Environmental and Economic Study of the Consequences of Pesticide Use in Central American Cotton Production Final Report, Central American Research Institute for Industry, United Nations Environment Programme Guatemala, 1977. [Pg.322]

The EPS (environmental priority strategies in product design) system was initiated in 1989 by Volvo Automotive Company, IVL Swedish Environmental Research Institute and the Swedish Industry Federation. The current version was developed at the Centre for Environmental Assessment of Product and Material Systems (CPM) [37, 38],... [Pg.128]

The Oeko-Tex Standard 100 [10] was introduced in the beginning of the 1990s. It was developed by the Austrian Textile Research Institute (OTI) and the German Research Institute Hohenstein and is a product label based on test for harmful substances in leather (or textiles), and the primary target group is the textile and clothing industry. [Pg.255]

The Ogachi hot dry rock (HDR) field is situated at the northeast Japan and has been studied to produce geothermal electricity by Central Research Institute of the Electric Power Industry for 20 years. There are two injection/production wells (OGC-1 and -2) and an observation one (OGC-3). Two major feed zones were formed by hydro fracturing at depth of 700m and 1100m, where their temperatures are 170 and 210°C, respectively. [Pg.164]

Figure 1.4 is in fact a small extract from much larger and comprehensive flow diagrams found in Stanford Research Institute (SRI) reports. Note that certain chemicals, acetaldehyde and acetic acid for example, appear in more than one place in the flowchart. This reflects the different alternative production routes available for most chemicals. In the industry, many chemicals are products of more than one... [Pg.13]

Cresols are used widely by industry. Information from the EPA s Toxic Release Inventory (TRI) on facilities that either manufactured or processed cresols in 1987 is outlined in Table 4-1. The TRI data should be used with caution since the 1987 data represent first-time reporting by these facilities. Only certain types of facilities were required to report. This is not an exhaustive list. According to the United States International Trade Commission (USITC 1987, 1988, 1989) and the 1989 Directory of Chemical Producers (SRI 1989), cresols are currently produced by five manufacturers in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Illinois, and Texas. USITC (1987, 1988, 1989) and Stanford Research Institute (SRI 1989) data for individual isomers and the mixture o-, p-, and m-isomers are included in Tables 4-2a through 4-2d. Data from the TRI do not agree with those from the USITC and SRI. For example, the Sloss Industries Coke Plant, which appears to meet SRI and USITC production criteria, was not listed with USITC (1987, 1988, 1989) or SRI (1989)-... [Pg.77]
