Independent power producer

MAIN regular and associate members include investor-owned utilities, cooperative systems, municipal power agencies, independent power producers, marketers, and two municipal systems that together sei"ve 19 million people living m a 120,000-sqiiare-mile area. 

The Florida peninsula, previously part of SERC, became a separate NERC Region in 1996 and was designated as the FRCC. It currently has 34 members consisting of investor-owned utilities, cooperatives, municipals, power marketers, and independent power producers.

Independent Power Producer A corporation, person, agency, authority or other legal entity or instrumentality that owns electric generating capacity and is a wholesale electric producer without a designated franchised service area.

As usual requirement in the developing countries, maximal utilization of locally available materials, manufacturing capabilities mid readily made products, as well as Indonesian nationals for labour, skilled workers and supervisory services are encouraged for the construction, operation and maintenance works, as far as they meet the specified quality. Indonesian companies are encouraged to participate and take die transfer of technology. But in the case where the plant would operate under a BOO scheme, in which the Independent Power Producer (IPP) alone would own the floating module of nuclear...

Every continent on the planet is surrounded by a cleaner, safer, more efficient energy resource. Coal-water slurries and waste coals such as anthracite culm and bituminous gob provide significant opportunities to utilities, industries, and independent power producers. These opportunity fuels result from both past and preseiit mining practices. They are typically high ash fuels they may be high moisture fuels as well. 

Note that Table 5.1 shows a wide diversity of agricultural materials. All of these materials have been considered for fuel applications by industries, independent power producers (IPP s), and utilities in the USA and Europe, particularly in the UK. Many of these fuels have been used in small power plants within the state of California or the southeast, and related agricultural areas. Note, also, that most of the herbaceous and agricultural materials have densities that are significantly lower even than wood fuels.
