Intracellular single-chain mAbs are supposed to prevent membrane localization of the receptors. Antireceptor mAbs conjugated to radionucleides, or to prodrugs, are tested as well, and DNA vaccines may induce an active immune response against RTK overexpressing tumors. 

O T cells are the chief components initiating the immune response against the allograft. The activity of T cells is mediated largely through the synthesis and release of interleukin-2 (IL-2).

Type O blood contains no antigens on the cell surface. In this case, any antibodies that the transfusion recipient may produce (anti-A or anti-B antibodies) have no antigens to attack. Therefore, no immune response against this blood exists. Individuals with type O blood are referred to as universal donors because this blood is suitable for transfusion in all individuals.

There exists direct evidence that the immune system mounts an immune response against most cancer types. Virtually all transformed cells express (a) novel surface antigens not expressed by normal cells or (b) express, at greatly elevated levels, certain antigens present normally on the cell at extremely low levels. These normal expression levels may be so low that they have gone unnoticed by immune surveillance (and thus have not induced immunological tolerance). 

Tissue/organ transplantation in which the donor is not genetically identical to the recipient (i.e. in cases other than identical twins). The recipient will mount an immune response against the transplanted tissue, culminating in tissue rejection unless immunosuppressive agents are administered.

Polyclonal antibody preparations have been used to induce passive immunity against a range of foreign (harmful) agents, and vaccines are used efficiently, and safely, to promote active immunization. Adjuvants are usually co-administered with the vaccine preparation, in order to enhance the immune response against the vaccine.
