The consequences of this situation are clearly shown in a 39-year-old white female patient with hepatic metastases of breast cancer (Fig. 8.12a,b). Besides uptake in the area of the liver metastases (arrow), the MAA scintigraphy showed longitudinal uptake at the caudomedial liver border, and focal uptake at the lateral liver border, in both cases not explained by tumor tissue.
