Hundred poisons

As the above cases demonstrate, carbon monoxide poisoning can arise from quite unexpected sources and can be serious. Most refinery/petrochemical processes produce ethylene that contains trace amounts of acetylene, which is difficult to remove even with cryogenic distillation.
