Horizontal ends

This specification covers horizontal, end suction, vertically split, single-stage centrifugal pumps with top centerline discharge and hack pullout feature. [Pg.918]

The primary pump types for the chemical industry for horizontal and vertical inline applications have been standardized in ANSI B-123, ANSI Std B73.1M for horizontal end suction centrifugal pumps, and ANSI B73.2M for vertical inline centrifugal pumps. The standards are in a continuous process of upgrading to suit requirements of industry and the manufacturers. The API-610 standard is primarily a heavy duty application, such as is used for the refinery and chemical industry requirements. This is the only true world pump [21] standard, although the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) is studying such an improved design [20]. [Pg.161]

The presumed effect of this pressure difference on the zero-creep measurements was rarely mentioned in the literature, but its existence would not be too difficult to test. If Pc were as important as believed71, then the W0 of a prismatic wire would have been twice that of a cylindrical wire of an identical cross section, and the WQ of a wire with a flat horizontal end would be quite different from that of a wire ending in a hemisphere. Neither of these differences ever was observed. [Pg.26]

The laticiferous vessels in stems of P. somniferum were first illustrated by Leger (1895), and those of the capsule were studied by Tschirch and Oesterle (19(X)) and Fedde (1936) (72). Esau (1953) reported that the laticifers developed from single vertical files of cells. Horizontal end walls of these cells were... [Pg.168]

The stress distribution within the plate becomes nonuniform near the defect (hole) and stresses concentrate at the tips (sharp edges at the horizontal ends) of the hole. Fig. 3.4.
