Is the wastewater from high pressure cleaning of heat exchangers treated separately and not with all the other water streams These often carry fine particles that provide a large surface area for oil and water to stabilize creating an oily sludge in the wastewater which is difficult to separate.

Sand blasting and high-pressure cleaning can be used to ronove deposits already formed. Few mechanical methods to prevent scale formation exists, other than opening up the system to bleed out the dissolved salts to prevent accumulation above the solubility of the salt.

Water may be injected into the reservoir to supplement oil recovery or to dispose of produced water. In some cases these options may be complementary. Water will generally need to be treated before it can be injected into a reservoir, whether it is cleaned sea water or produced water. Once treated it is injected into the reservoir, often at high pressures. Therefore to design a process flow scheme for water injection one needs specifications of the source water and injected water. 

A perforated plate can be flat, concave, convex, or double-dished. The main advantages of the perforated plate are that it is simple, inexpensive, easy to modify, and easy to clean. The disadvantages of a perforated plate are the possibiUty of soflds leaking, ie, weeping through it into the plenum lower turndown capabiUty than other distributors the requirement of a peripheral seal and a relatively high pressure drop requited for good distribution. 

Od condensed from the released volatdes from the second stage is filtered and catalyticady hydrotreated at high pressure to produce a synthetic cmde od.
