IR Data. Transformations of rhodium complexes under hydroformylation conditions were followed by attaching a heated, high-pressure IR cell to the autoclave and periodically sampling the reaction liquid. Solvents varied from pure hexane to actual reacting mixtures of olefin and aldehyde. The data are summarized in Table VI. [Pg.256]

An HDPE sample together with aliquots of TBPB/styrene solution (0.3 mol % TBPB) were sealed in stainless-steel-high pressure vessels that were purged with C02 gas, tared, and heated to the soak temperature of 80 °C. A heated high-pressure C02 manifold was used to pressurize the vessel to 243 bar. The vessel was then weighed to determine the mass of C02 transferred and then heated for 5 h at 80 °C. The styrene in C02 concentration was 28 wt %. After this initial soaking period, the vessel was heated to 100 °C and maintained at this temperature for the desired reaction time. The vessel was then vented, refilled with nitrogen, and maintained at 100 °C for 6 h. [Pg.166]

A smali shell-and-tube exchanger with one tube pass [A = 4.64 m2 and U = 280 W/m2 °C] is to be used to heat high-pressure water initially at 20°C with hot air initially at 260°C. If the exit water temperature is not to exceed 93°C and the air flow rate i 0.45 kg/s, calculate the water flow rate. [Pg.572]

Different extrusion profile processes can be used such as a robotic profile. A robot delivers the hot melt over or around a substrate. This robotic extrusion process can uses a flexible, heated, high-pressure hose that is connected to the extruder s die exit. The hot melt travels through the hose. At the end of the hose is a nozzle the tip of this nozzle is, in effect the actual profile die. A computer-regulated multiaxis robot controls the positioning of the profile nozzle die. The nozzle/die is guided by the robot to deposit the profile s hot melt on, as an example, a substrate that is on a multi-station rotating table supporting other substrates to be covered. [Pg.257]

Hot gas leaving the ammonia converter is cooled by heating high-pressure boiler feedwater and feed gas to the converter. Ammonia is separated from partially cooled gas using mechanical refrigeration. [Pg.17]

The analyzer uses a heated, high-pressure (up to 4000 psi) anion exchange column, concentration gradient elution with an aqueous acetate buffer for separation and transport of the constituents of the sample mixture, and a recording photometer for detection and quantification of the separated constituents (Fig. 6). Earlier models of this analyzer were housed in standard 24 X 24 X 63 in. cabinets (Fig. 7) however, miniaturized versions with capillary separation columns are now being used (Fig. 8). An anion exchange resin produced by Bio-Rad Laboratories (Aminex A-27) in the size range of 10-15 ju has been found to be satisfactory. [Pg.12]

A pilot test plant with hydrogen production capacity of about 30 Nm /h is being designed. The pilot test plant will be made of industrial materials and operated using an electrically heated high-pressure helium gas as the heat source. Figure 10 shows a tentative scheme of the pilot test facility, which consists of the IS process pilot test plant and a helium gas circulation facility (He loop)... [Pg.63]

Liquid erosion damage is to be expected if heating steam contains a proportion of condensate again dependent on the angle of incidence. When compared with austenitic steels, steam-heated, high-pressure pipes made of low-aUoy ferritic steel prove to be insufficiently resistant if the heating is carried out with incompletely dried steam at 2 MPa. [Pg.532]
