A deco-cotion of the upper plant parts (capitula and leaves) is used to treat constipation, jaundice, Uver diseases, hypochondria, respiratory tract catarrh, intermittent fever, gastrointestinal atonia, gout, ulcers, kidney diseases, urination disorders, and indigestion and is also used as an emetic (Ogolevitz 1951 Khalmatov et al. 1984 Khodzhimatov 1989). 

Colchicine has long been known for the treatment of acute flare of gout from as early as 500 B.C. [31]. But surprisingly, it is only in July 2009 that the US FDA approved the use of it as a remedy to reduce pain in patients suffering from acute gout [3],... 

Traditional Medicine. In Europe, the herb has reportedly been used to promote renal function digestive elimination an adjuvant in weight loss products (bradly).
