The search results from Google also give links to environmental databases.

Text mining is the bread-and-butter method used by researchers on a daily basis [31, 32]. If you ask researchers what they really want from information management, you might be surprised how often they wish for a science Google to mine for data. As beautiful and simple as this paradigm sounds. 

Searching Google.com for e-clinical provides many vendors. Some of these are Oracle Clinical v4i from Oracle Corporation [34], DataLabsXC from DataLabs, Inc. [35], TrialMaster from OmniCommSystems [36], and Clin-Plus Data Management (CPDM) by DZS Software Solutions, Inc. [37]. 

The recent increase of interest in PSA can also be demonstrated by the number of publications mentioning this descriptor over the past 15 years-as counted by the popular scientific search engine Google Scholar [11]. In Fig. 5.2, one can see that until around 1993 the term PSA was practically unused in scientific pubhca-tions, the first increase is visible in the period 1994 to 2001, while in more recent years a very steep increase in the number of publications using this descriptor has been witnessed.

This paper outlines one approach that is being developed at the Geological Survey of Canada (GSC), where data are extracted from the database and re-cast as KML files that can be displayed in Google Earth or any other KML-aware application. Examples are presented for a recently-completed compilation of till geochemical data from New Brunswick (Adcock et al. 2009).
