Fiuit juices

The majority of fiuit juice is made by reconstituting concentrated juice with water to a composition similar to that of the original state. However, since records are not usually kept of the exact quality of the original juice, such reconstitution normally relates to an agreed trade standard. Reconstituted juices are often packed in aseptic long-fife containers such as TetraPaks.

In this article we have introduced the Bruker SGF Profiling method for the authentication, verification and quality control of fiuit juices. In addition to tihe quantification of a large array of characteristic compounds, this fully automated NMR screening technique uses statistical models for the estimation of fhiit content or the origin of the juice. This analysis tool can show known and unknown deviations from normality. Currently, routines are under development to identify unknown deviations by constructing spectral patterns which can be compared to an existing reference compound database. ...

Filter aid - Expanded and milled perlite is used as a filteraid in the processing of foods such as sugar, oils, beer, and fiuit juices and in the filtration of chemical products and industrial effluents. 

What is of particular interest in the case cited is that the interaction apparently oeeurred with whole grapefiuit, which is not usually considered to be a problem, although it is known that the fiuit content of possible active eomponents (e.g. flavonoids) do vary considerably. The juice (as opposed to the whole fruit) more commonly interacts, as the juicing process can increase the flavonoid content. The evidence with pomegranate juice is currently too sparse to predict its effects in practice. 

The cultivation of yellow passion fruit (Passifloraedulis var. flavicarpa Deg., Passifloraceae) has been preferred for industrial production of juice, jelly and dessert due the nutritional quality of this variety there are a munber of characteristics which consider the yellow passion fruit superior to the others varieties, for example, higher finit size, weight, total acidity, pest resistance and increased productivity per hectare (Carvalho-Okano et al., 2001 Zibadi Watson, 2004). Figure 1, shows the parts of yellow passion fiuit. 

Various parts of Solanum melongena (Solanaceae) are useful in the treatment of inflammatory conditions, cardiac debility, neuralgia, ulcers of nose, cholera, bronchitis and asthma. Roots are used as antiasthmatic and general stimulant, juice is employed for otitis, applied to ulcers of the nose. Leaves are used in the treatment of bronchitis, asthma and dysuria, also given in liver eomplaints and they stimulate the inter hepatic metabolism of cholesterol. The fruit of Solanum melongena has a high percentage of Vitamin B2. The fiuit is also used in the treatment of diabetes [23],... 

In the late 1980s, Alar residues on food caused considerable controversy in the marketplace. Alar, daminozide, is a growth regulator that was widely used on apples to bring about uniform ripening of the fiuit, and to improve the firmness and color of the apples. It was discontinued for this purpose after 1988 because of concerns that it might cause eaneer, particularly in those children who consume relatively large amounts of apples, apple juice, and other apple products.
